Description

The Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel offers the perfect getaway to experience all the fun of the Disneyland Resort®. Located a short walk from the Disneyland Resort®, you can walk across to the main gates or use the resort's shuttle system operating throughout the day (fee). The hotel features 303 spacious and brightly decorated guestrooms and suites on seven acres of landscaped gardens including Mimi's Cafe restaurant. Enjoy Castaway Cover, a pirate-themed water playgroud complete with 30-foot pirate ship, water slides, drench bucket, children's pool with fountain play area, and a whirlpool spa (15 person capacity with foot jets). There is also a separate secluded heated Garden Pool for swimming. Each guestroom features a refrigerator, single-cup coffeemaker, hairdryer, cable television, pay-per-view movies, iron/board, and clock radio. Most rooms are designed with private balconies and separate vanities outside the bathrooms. Parking and WiFi are always FREE. Great views of the Disneyland fireworks and the Monorail from the pool deck of Castaway Cove.

excellent stay

I liked everything about this hotel. the pool was great and open late, you can watch the fireworks from disneyland from the pool. the local restaurants are good and reasonably priced.

Well worth the price

I chose this hotel because of the proximity to Disneyland. It is a short 5 minute walk to the main entrance plaza to Disneyland. It is literally a few blocks and you cross the street to the passenger unloading area for buses. The hotel is a bit dated and the only complaint was that there was a musty odor for the first day or two of the stay. The onsite store had snacks and other items at a very reasonable price. This hotel also offers free parking which is very nice also. The beds were very comfortable. The wireless internet was slow, but there is also no additional charge for access. I would definitiely stay here again when I return.

A WONDERFUL HOTEL

This hotel is fantastic. It was very clean and everyone is very nice. The beds are very comfortable and they gave us 4 pillows to each bed. It is very convenient to walk to Disneyland & many restrauants. They have a hot tub and a very nice pool & water area. We would definately stay here again. The room had a frige and a balcony. There was nothing I disliked about this hotel. The parking is free also.

Excellent place to stay!

We stayed here on our honeymoon (disney). The room was SUPER SUPER clean. The bed was divine and we had a fridge and coffeemaker. The staff was friendly and efficent. Two pools kept the kids in our family happy and walk to Disney wasn't bad at all. Really, the most stand out thing was how CLEAN the rooms were and how comfy the bed was. Everything else was great but those two things really stand out in my mind. The only reason I have 4 stars for "Value" was because a contientnal breakfast would have been awesome for the price. Other than that it was fab!

great deal

This hotel is great! We came in Feb.09 and stayed 3 days and my back was the best shape It had ever been from any hotel bed. We came back in Oct.09 and stayed 3 more days in the kids suite, the adult side had a king size super comfy. Two baths, two separate rooms great space, what a deal for 125 a night. The water has great pressure and very hot and I am 6'4 and able to get under and in the shower, sweet. This is the best hotel, for the money on the strip! The water park is sweet also the kids loved it, heated water. No room service or food close.

GREAT FUN FOR FAMILIES

The water park for the children is great and the staff is very helpful. Rooms are big and beds are very comfortable. I found that the value for the money was great.

bait and switch

Location is convienant and the new water playpark for the kids was what made us go with this hotel. However, our room was disgusting !!! The room appeared dirty. Our shower was clogged and had hair on the walls from previous guests.Our tv hardly worked and had not 1 clear channel.The fridge did not work.I am writing this review to help others because i got sucked in with the pictures and reviews and wished i would have had a warning not to go to this hotel. We had a five day trip paid but checked out the next day. After speaking to the hotel manager there was never an attempt on there part to make the situation better.

would probably come back

I didn't like how far it was from the entrance of disneyland.after walking all day in disneyland it was hard..and no shuttle in sight. I loved the waterpark for me and my 2yr. old!!! building one has comfy beds and you'll have view of fireworks 3,4, or 5 floors, and is very close to hotel store,lobby,arcade room, and waterpark, but very small room and bathroom..Building two has large beds and rooms but no view of fireworks, close to big pool.Check in time is very late at 4pm, and they may not have another room available if you come earlier. We came a couple hrs. to soon and they made us wait for 30 mins in lobby. we did not get the room we reserved on line which was a king size bed, but they gave us a larger room with two queens so it worked out I guess.I'd probably come back to this hotel for the water park alone.everything else I could pass on.The halls in the hotel need repair and upgrading. The bathrooms needed to be updated. well hope this helps someone out there!!

Oustanding Hotel for Disney Access

What an outstanding hotel for families visiting Disneyland, CA! The rooms were comfortable and clean, the pool is outstanding, and it's within 15 minutes' walk from the Disneyland entrance. Definitely a top choice for families with kids. There's no continental breakfast available, but the gift shop is well stocked with breakfast foods that we kept in our room.

Howard's on the freeway Johnson

This could have been such a great place to stay...BUT the highway noise and vibration will rattle your teeth out. Also, when I called and asked about the pool they said I would have a pool view...very nice...except the pool was down for repairs the whole visit. Seems like the staff would have mentioned that! A swim would have been nice after a day at the park and especially when you get no sleep. Fairly close to the park and right on the highway, reasonable clean, ok room size. BUT the NOISE!!!!!!!! All night long! Not worth the lack of sleep.
