Great stay, great scare!!
By ,
I stayed at this hotel several years ago and experienced two ghosts in my room in the middle of the night. The service and the staff were excellent and so was the scare. I'm writing this review now because of that review from 01/01/10.

We had a ghost in our room!

This hotel was charming and became even better when a ghost jumped on our bed in the middle of the night , I truely became a believer after that night!

Okay, but not fabulous.
By ,
Clean hotel, but very small rooms and an older hotel. Wireless internet access available in common area, but not in your own hotel room. Very convenient location. We got a deal on the hotel room because we were staying for a conference. I do not think we will stay here again, especially once we have children. I need more modern conveniences than this hotel had to offer.

Would love to go back!!
We spent 2 nights in march, and absolutely loved it!! The room was very nice, spacious, nice decor.. we found few long hairs in the toilet, and stuff in the bin.. but otherwise it was perfect located, nice concierge.. we loved San Francisco. Hope we'll be back one day..

Staff very helpful.
By ,
Room way to small. You can't leave bathroom door open because it will block door to exit room. NO DRESSERS in room. Have to live out of your suite-case. Would not recommend when more then 1 person in room. A NON-SMOKING HOTEL. Would hope that I never have to come back to this hotel

A good hotel
By ,
This hotel is really close to the Moscone Center and has several good places to eat around it. The rooms are older and small but they are clean and comfortable. i would not recommend this place for someone traveling with kids - but I would recommend it for business travelers.

Small, Old, Quaint, Convenient. And smelly.
By ,
TINY room, but clean and with basic amenities. Nice hard bed. Very few cable channels. Very small bathroom. Do not bring a lot of luggage! Plus the restaurant in the lobby is of the greasy-smell variety, which permeates the first at least 3 floors of the hotel. You'll smell like you slept in the fryer.

Nice for the price!
By ,
Stayed for 8 days on the 8th floor in a very nice but small room. Nice big TV (not too many channels though),small refrigerator, easy internet access, big fluffy towels and even a big fluffy bathrobe. I think the 8th floor has the "best" rooms. Great location close to shopping, transportation and museums and tons of restaurants. We never ate at the attached Joe's restaurant but it smelled like good italian food. We didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel except to rest our legs and sleep. It was very comfortable to us. The only thing bad about this location and pretty much all of San Francisco is the homeless and crazies are everywhere. I would go back especially if I got the great hotwire deal again. Take your walking shoes, pack light and have fun!

What a horrible place
By ,
The rooms are very small, do not provide any storage apart from a few coat hangers. We had to keep our clothes on the floor for 5 days. The house keeping is very basic (making bed and clean bathroom), removing the rubbish in bins is optional and the carpet don't seem to be vaccumed very often.... this is a very old building in major need of serious upgrades.. Definitely a place to be avoided
