I had an enjoyable time at The Beach Resort. It helped me relax and leave my worries at home. The view was spectacular. I would definitely stay there again and recommend family and friends to stay there.

Saw dolphins swim by.....

.....Was about the only plus for this hotel. Food was horrible, staff was pretty rude. Pretty far from aquarium and other sites. But it is the only hotel on the beach, Just walk down the steps and your there. Ocean view rooms also come with passerby views, window looks out on to walkway, people walk right by your room.

OUR FAVORITE MONTEREY HOTEL

MY WIFE AND I ALWAYS STAY HERE WHEN WE VIST THE AREA. IT'S CLOSE TO LAGUNA SECA AND OTHER ATTRACTIONS. THE OCEAN VIEW RESTAURANT IS EXCELLANT. YOU DON'T NEED A DESIGNATED DRIVER WITH THIS ON SITE. WE DON'T GET AN OCEAN FRONT ROOM BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO LEAVE YOUR DRAPES OPEN TO ENJOY IT. THE ENTRANCE WALKWAYS GO RIGHT PAST YOUR WINDOW. SAVE THE MONEY AND GO "GARDEN". THEY WILL ALSO ALLOW A PET FOR A SMALL EXTRA FEE!

I will give an honest review . The Location is stunning and thats probably what they are charging for . 1st -ve thing . I had a sea view but I could see other people walking outside and I could not even keep the curtains open as there is a walk way and so no privacy. 2nd -ve thing They has some 11 dollor hidden parking charge and some 25 dollor hidden room charge which I got to know once I was there. 3rd -ve thing . The restaurant is average but service is bad I had to wait for 30 mins before some one could come to attend . I would say its ourageously expensive . The location is what makes all the -ves a Positive

Wonderful experience

We were lucky enough to stay here in the Summer of 2006. We had a room on the 4th floor in the corner facing the ocean & it was perfect! The room was clean, the employees very attentive & the view was beyond belief. Should you decide to stay here pay the extra $$ & face the ocean because you do not hear any of the sounds from the nearby highway. It is centrally located & is 10 minutes from everywhere. The only complaint was that the courtesy coffee in the rooms was sub-par & the to-go coffee in the restatraunt was 4 bucks a cup! Do yourself a favor & buy coffee elsewhere & stay at this jewel!

The hotel is located right on the beach and in the evenings the sunsets are beautiful. The most memorable experience is listening to the ocean waves break in the early morning, while enjoy a warm cup of coffee. The lobby ocean view is awesome and the furniture is comfortable to enjoy the atmosphere and relax. The service and rooms were clean and comfortable. The restaurant served excellent food, but Monterey is a short driving trip away with a wide variety of restaurant to select. The markets are nearby and the people are very friendly. I wish I can visit more often. Highly recommend it!

Beautiful landscaping, if you don't get an ocean view you get a pool or garden view. Wonderful flowers. Clean room with nice details. Nice bathroom, modern and clean. Room had "beachy" decor, nice. Room had fresh flowers and was very comfortable. Lobby/Common Area decor was wonderful, "California" feel, cozy places to sit with ocean views, fireplaces, tables. Right on the beach. Wooden chairs on a deck to watch the waves and sunset. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres served at Bar. We took ours down to the beachside chairs. Breakfast at the resturant was fresh and delicious. We sat at a table overlooking the water. We were impressed with all of the details provided from the room to the common areas. I was able to check my email in the Business Center with the free high speed Internet. I was unhappy with the hidden fees that were not quoted to me until I was signing on the line. Also, they should not charge for parking.

you could hear the highway. the frond desk was rude. the was hair in the tub. overflowed toilet in the bathroom. the bedspread was old worn. i wouldn't stay here!

Will Never Stay At This Place Again!

This place was very overrated. The only good thing I can say about it was the view of the ocean. However I had to walk to the other side of the motel to see it. I paid a premium price for a non-ocean view. The staff was very rude and the room was not the cleanest. When I went to take a shower, there was black hair in the shower (mine is blonde). The coffee maker would not work at first and when we asked for another, we were told that maybe there was a problem with the plug in. There was a sign that said do not use coffee maker and hairdryer at the same time, but I was not using the hair dryer or any other appliance at the time! We also were not told it was an extra $10 per day to park. The parking itself was terrible. Next time I will stay right in Monterey.

I Will Go Back Again Next Summer!

This place was great. You get a great deal for the money. The service was great. Room service was fast. Food was great. Location was the best! The hotel sits on the beach. I thought the room was very cute. It was clean except there was an old towel left in the room. Besides that it was clean. Go there! It was great! Its a great romantic get-away.
