DON'T EVER HAVE A WEDDING/RECEPTION HERE!
By Wendy, 01/20/10
This place had the worst service I have ever experience at a reception. I sat in awe watching the wedding party clean up plates from the guest's tables because the service was so slow. Come to find out they were short handed with only two servers to handle a wedding reception party of 125. Not to mention the roof was leaking right on to the dance floor. Also to find out it was the Air conditioner that was leaking, obviously the AC wasn't working because it was around 80 degrees!

DO NOT STAY HERE!
By Anonymous, 03/23/09
DO NOT STAY HERE! The hotel is mismanaged, poorly kept, has terrible customer service, and is possibly the worst place I have ever stayed!! 1) The room I was given at check in was not the correct room I reserved. 2)The room that I finally got had no running water and when they finally got the water running it was orange from rust! 3)The entire hotel smelled of mold. 4)The keys weren't able to open the door to our room and we had to wait over 15 minutes for new ones. 5)When we finally got to sleep from all of the noise in the halls we were woken up by a call from the front desk stating we were making too much noise and to "keep it down". 6)When we checked out we had to wait over 15 minutes for someone who knew what they were doing to help us. 7)Two days after we returned home we were charged for 1 too many rooms. 8)When we called for them to correct THEIR mistake they argued with me telling me that I was wrong and that there was nothing they could do about it. 9)After leaving a message with the "manager" I had to wait over 2 hourse for a returned phone call. 10)When I called back to speak with the "manager" about my problem they told me that she had left for the day, which was a lie because I was finally able to speak with her. 11)When I finally was able to speak with her she herself told me that I must now have realized it, but that I had two rooms, not one! I ONLY RESERVED ONE ROOM AND ONLY STAYED IN ONE ROOM FOR ONLY ONE NIGHT!!!!!! 12)When she told me that there was nothing she could do I drove down there so that I could get my problem handled in person I had to wait in the lobby for nearly 10 minutes while I watched the desk staff talk about me. 13)When the so called "manager" finally came to help me she then became very apologetic only because the OWNER of the hotel was standing right next to me. 14)The woman told me that I would be recieving something stating how they resolved my problem and I never got anything, so I called in to let her know that I hadn't recieved anything and she told me I was lying and that she never promised me anything. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!

Nice Place to stop
By William, 12/14/07
I came through on my way north and stayed at this hotel when a downtown hotel lost my reservation. I found this hotel to be nice, clean and much better priced with all the amenities. I usually stay downtown when traveling through thinking it was easier, no more. This was much more convienent, Staff was really friendly and seemed to care about my situation. Again this hotel is better priced with FREE parking close to my room whihch is important to me. I like that the room service isnt overpriced and the food actually makes it to your room hot. The pool was inviting although I forgot my trunks so I just soaked my feet. I found me a new stopping place when traveling through.

Great for Teams
By Leo, 12/14/07
We had our team in actually a couple of different weekends and have enjoyed our stay each time. This hotel is wonderful for kids. Indoor pool, arcade, restaurant that will deliver Pizza to your rooms, clean rooms have been updated since we began coming (wasnt so great before) New Mattresses are definataly a needed improvement we sleep like a baby now. We choose this hotel because of the amenities for the kids and the staff being so friendly. Easy access to the freeway and free parking. We like the hotel being enclosed so the kids are all kept together.

Never again !!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/09/07
We normally enjoy staying at Red Lions but not this one. This location gives Red Lion a bad name. Great location and great parking but that is all I can say. Stayed on third floor also. Room 346 with the huge mirrors (okay that was weird). It was late at night and one of few rooms they said they had left. Towel bar on the floor in bathroom, COLD WATER in bathroom sink did not work, bathroom floor dirty. Light next to bed did not work, found extra remote behind the bed while trying to check and see if the lamp plugged in. Fake rose petals under bed and in pull out couch that we used for a daughter to sleep on. Someone’s take out food in fridge. Mold in shower. Tried to get towels because towel bar on floor did not come with any. Took staff 8 hours to get them to us and that was after three phone calls. Left message for manager never returned, assistant manager laughed when we told her our complaints. Was offered a free government employee cold cereal breakfast as a consolation. Called corporate with complaint 866-205-7222 they were undertanding. Will only stay at Red Lions in Nevada from now on.

Worst Night Ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/22/07
My family and I stayed at your Red Lion Inn Hotel (Modesto) this last Sat. (Jan. 20, 2007) night, and it was our worst stay ever at a hotel! You and your staff should be ashamed of yourselves. The room was little musty smelling, but that was not the real problem. Our room (#364) was situated right above the night club, so the music and bad singing (karaoke night) was incredibly loud and deafening in our room. It was so loud that we could hear every all the words to the songs and could feel the bass of the music. I first contacted the front desk at around 10:30pm and asked if the bar could turn down the volume of the karaoke music and microphone. He said that he would make that request to the bartender. Thirty minutes had elapsed and the music seemed louder. I called the front desk again, the guy said that he had asked the bartender to turn down the music about 5 times already, but that the bartender was not willing to comply. The guy at the front desk said that the music will probably stop around 11pm so I let it go. At around 11:10pm, I finally went down to the lobby because the music was still blaring and keeping my family awake and annoyed. I talked to the guy at the front desk, he said "Why don't YOU go into the bar and ask them to turn the music down because they will not listen to me." It was obvious to me at this point that the seven local karaoke people that were in the bar were far more important than all of the paying guests at this hotel! Finally, the music and bad singing stopped at 12:15am when all of the local Elvis impersonators had their fair share of singing and torturing all of the hotel guests. I have traveled world-wide and stayed at hundreds of hotel/motels, but this one night was by far my worst experience at a hotel because your staff was so unwilling to help their own guests. My request was not unreasonable. I just wanted to be able to sleep in a quiet environment. I cannot believe I had to actually pay for my room. I will never patronize your hotel or your affiliates ever again.

Pay extra for a better place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/21/06
The entrance to the hotel was grand but that is where the good stuff stopped!! All the cool stuff that was offered was bad. The hotel was too cold to use the indoor pool. The workout facility was old and limited. The continental breakfast was overly expensive for what was offered. The service to the rooms was almost nonexsistant.(waited 3 hrs for fresh towels) I would have paid the extra $20 bucks a night to stay somewhere else.

not good
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/08/06
When we arrived there were no towels of any kind in the room. The next day we got one bath towel, one hand and no wash coths.I had to call the front desk and ask for some. The tv got struck on high volume.I did not enjoy the stay. Not worth the cost.

In the middle of remodeling
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/29/06
We'll start with the dislikes: the interior of the room needed attention, (wallpaper was peeling off) bathtub needed cleaning, the door to the room was painted closed, (couldn't get in with our card/key). Construction workers we're replastering outside of the hotel, which was nice, but the interior needs help. We couldn't get the heater to heat the room, cold air was always blowing out, I finally turned the unit off. Now with the likes: When we couldn't get the door open to our room, a nice lady and man (both employees) had to pound on the door to open it, as it was painted closed. The indoor pool area was very clean. The bed was comfortable. We had to check out a day early and we had no problem altering our stay. We needed a room close to the local hospital, so we chose Red Lion, because of the location.
