BEST WESTERN Golden Sails Hotel, Long Beach

We were very disappointed with this place. The staff was not friendly or helpful but worsed of all is that they have a club and when the club lets out the people end up having parties in the rooms. At 2 am we were woke up by a bunch of young ROUGH looking adults standing in front of our door then we heard a radio go on in the room next to ours and people yelling and laughing. I called the front desk and told them there was a party going on in the room next to us and wanted another room. He said he would call back but didn't so a 2:30 am we packed up our stuff ready to check out and move to a different hotel. When we went to the front desk, the girl said "Oh the club just closed it is always noisy from 2 to 2:30 am it should be fine now." I said no there is a party going on in the room next to us. She said she would move us to an upgraded room if we stayed so we did. But when we got to the new room at 3am and saw that there was only one bed (we had asked for two) it sure wasn't an upgrade (no microwave and frig like the other room had either) we were so tired at this point we stayed in the room. Which was my mistake because my husband jumps around alot while sleeping. If you still decide to stay here after all, stay in a room away from the parking lot and the club and get on at least the second floor (it will cost more though). Don't expect much from the staff either. The rooms did seem clean, though. But I didn't feel safe in the parking lot and worried about my car. I sure wouldn't recomend staying here to any friend of mine. There has to be a better place.

I was a little nervous about booking b/c of some of the reviews I’d read. We stayed in the main building on the back (awful view of the roof below, but very quiet)and we just needed the room for sleeping, not the view. I was told by a guest in a different section of the hotel that it’s really noisy when the local club closes as everyone parades to their cars. No problem for us though, we had a room away from the noise. Free internet (helped us get discount tickets and last minute directions), GREAT free breakfast buffet (not continental), clean, safe, and close to shopping, beach, etc. Enjoyed our stay!

The room was small and smelled musty, moldy and damp. Would not stay here again my next time in SoCal if they offered the room for free. If you want the free breakfast youhave to stop at the front desk daily to get your breakfastcoupon. (what a hassle!!)

Nothing fancy but had everything that's important..cleanliness, good location and great friendly service from staff. The heated pool and the lawn courtyard areas are great for relaxing and playing for all ages. The location is within 3-4 miles of the beach, restaurants, shopping and sightseeing.

The service is nice and courteous... Room clean.. Food great!!! Close to everything..including the beach, Long Beach Acquairum.. movies.. stores and Belmont Shore...also close the the convention center which is 5 minutes away.. plus the downtown Long Beach Terrace Theatre and restaurants..
