Never ever again, not even for free
By Ricky Sng, 01/20/09
Pros: Nice hotel with proximity to all amenities, they like pets and have good cookies and wine in the evenings Cons: Not very friendly staff, bordering on rude for some. Very unhelpful, talked about towncar service but never once available at all throughout a full week of stay there. Sent me up to the wrong room on my very first day in SF after a long, 18 flight. Twice. Maybe its just their way of showing me that i am not welcomed at all. They greet everyone else except us and didn't bother to help us with our luggage, neither during check in nor check out. They will levy a higher charge on your credit card for the stay just in case and even overcharged me when i checked out. They did agree to extend my checkout time but i changed my mind and swapped hotels asap.

Will never stay anywhere else!!!
By ellens, 10/17/08
Just came back from a 4 night stay and only have wonderful things to say about this lovely boutique hotel. Location was excellent, staff was exceptionally helpful and the extras, like wine at 5:00 PM, fresh baked sweets in the afternoon and hot coffee in the AM made for a perfect trip. When I did have a slight problem - our room had a slight odor - the staff wanted to switch us to another room but I declined. Just a little spritz of air deodrant and using the air conditioner helped tremendously. My hint to others is to join the Kimpton club. I did and was greeted with a gift and was able to play this silly pick-a-rubber-ducky game where I won a bottle of wine. If you stay at the Triton don't miss the wine bar next door. Great food, great wine and great service!

In the thick of things...

We love the Triton and stay here whenever we're in SFO, either on business or for pleasure. The eclectic decor of this boutique hotel make for a fun trip every time. Don't forget about the Wine Happy Hours.

What a great hotel
By PL, 04/29/07
I travel to San Francisco frequently and once I found this little hotel ,I have been a regular. Conveniently located with a shuttle from SFO and a car rental agency down the block, do not bother with airport rental, as the parking fees are excessive. I simply rent a car for my day trip to wine country, it ends up being the cheapest way to go.

Nice Place, Great Location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/02/05
Hip, cool and close to everything. Cafe De La Presse is right next door. Financial District, China Town and Union Square are all close. Very nice.

Good service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/01/05
I was impressed at their high quality service, but I felt it was a little pricey compared to other hotels in the same price range.

location location location
By CandaceV, 09/26/05
You can walk to everything when you stay here. Walk to Union Square and shop on the way (if you can afford to of course). There is a massive Banana republic half a block away. You'll pass Niketown, Burberry, Prada. Look across the street and you'll be looking at Chinatown. Public transportation (BART, buses, cable cars) are all in walking distance as well. Plenty to eat (The Cheesecake Factory on top of Macy's is a personal favorite. awesome view when there is no fog).

Perfect trendy spot close to all
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/05
So close to everything you don't need to rent a car! Very modern design but cool and fun staff. Walk right out the door and you've got Chinatown right there. Perfect place to stay to be in the thick of things.

Great location, great people...the rock n roll theme of the place is awesome. The Hotel Triton is convienantly located near Union Square, which is close to everything. We really enjoyed our stay there and would definately come back.
