Great hotel for a great price!
By Annie, 1/27/12
This hotel was great!! We stayed for 4 nights, and had no problems. One of the employees at the desk was not very friendly at all. But all of the others were great. The housekeeping crew was fantastic, and would always smile at us. Our room was spotless every day, the same housekeeper cleaned our room, so we went right to her and gave her a large tip, and yes she could speak English. While we stayed there one day PS had a terrible wind storm with 70 mile per hour winds, causing a mess in the pool area. The help was out immediately sweeping out the pool and the entire deck, when the winds had stopped. We also never saw any trash around the outside of the hotel at all. They would also vacuum the outdoor/indoor green carpeting everyday. Breakfast was very good, with waffles, fruit, cereal, toast, and pastries, that were made in a small kitchen in the back. Coffee was very good. Every one of the workers were very nice to us, except for the one gentlemen at the front desk. We had asked if we could check in a couple hours earlier and he said no, that check in was at 3. The room offered everything we needed, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, iron and ironing board. The bed was a little uncomfortable by our fourth night. We had asked for two additional pillows and they were on our bed after we returned back to our room after site seeing. The pool was heated and clean, but we did not use it during our visit. We will definitely stay again at this hotel when we return to PS again next year. I am sure that the price fluctuates according to the season as all hotels do. Our price was 58.00 per night, taxes included. You really cannot beat the price, which leaves more money in your pocket for other great things in PS.

We have always enjoyed our stays.
By Lynn, 9/8/10
Friends and I have been coming to this motel for 10 years. It's like coming home. No pretenses, no luxury but peace and quiet and lots of space to relax. The Royal Sun has always been a safe haven for us. We must have visited at least 20 times and will continue to do so. Thanks Royal Sun Inn. You always help make our visits very enjoyable.

It wasn't horrible.
By coutterhill, 5/23/08
I liked it that it wasn't too expensive and that I could have waffles for breakfast. I didn't like how people slamming doors kept me awake all night, but not the hotels fault. The big problem I had was the air conditioning, not getting cool enough and turning on and off all night; which also kept me awake. But the pillows were so comfortable and the la-z-boy was great. Balconies are awesome. The breakfast scene was weird with a bunch of people crammed in a little hot room and people eating breakfast at the pool. The "cooks" in the little breakfast room were odd, I don't think they spoke English. Overall, I love spending the night at a hotel and this wasn't the worst place I have stayed for the amount of money I paid.

WORST EVER
By Christianne, 1/6/07
We stayed at this hotel from Dec. 23-25. It was HORRIBLE. It was the WORST hotel we've been to. We were at unit 232. But during our first night, we weren't able to sleep because we can hear noises of footsteps from the ceiling of our room from the people staying on the 3rd level unit. The sound of the bed cranking and the footsteps of the people running, walking and whatever can be heard from our room. Also, the faucet from our bathroom JUST FELL OFF. We were so shocked to learn about it when we first heard the noise. We call the front desk and requested to be transferred to another room because of these problems. However, they said that the hotel was fully booked. We told them that since we're going to be there for 2 nights, if they could keep us posted as soon as a room becomes available. But to no avail. Even though we saw 4 couples checking out from the hotel. Furthermore,tThe breakfast was TERRIBLE with hard to eat pastries and shortage of coffee and creamer. We will NEVER go back to this hotel ever.

MANAGMENT AND FRONT DESK VERY UNFRIENDLY
By Marilyn M, 9/16/05
The rooms were large and very clean. There was a small frige and microwave in the room. A free breakast was included in the rate. However, I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!! YOU ARE CHARGED FOR LOCAL CALLS IF THEY ARE MORE THEN 10 MILES FROM THE HOTEL. THEY ALSO CHARGE YOU .50CENTS TO CALL 800 NUMBERS OR USE A CALLING CARD. I WAS TOLD BY THE FRONT DESK THAT AS LONG AS I WAS CALLING WITHIN THE AREA OF PALM DESERT, RANCHO MIRAGE THAT I WOULD ONLY BE CHARGED .50 CENTS FOR THE CALL EVEN IF I DID NOT USE MY CALLING CARD. YOU CAN IMAGINE MY SURPRISE WHEN I SAW A CHARGE FOR $13.00 ON MY BILL FOR ONE PHONE CALL TO PALM DESERT. WHEN I TOLD THE FRONT DESK WHAT I HAD BEEN TOLD BY ONE THEIR EMPLOYES HE ACCUSED ME OF LYING AND TOLD ME HE WOULD TAKE IT OFF MY BILL BUT NEVER TO COME TO HIS HOTEL AGAIN. I STAYED AT THIS HOTEL FOR A TOTAL OF 9 DAYS. THEY DO NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ME EVER COMING BACK!!

You get what you pay for.....
By AngelaE, 5/21/05
The only good thing about this place was the view of the mountains from the balcony. Everything else felt cheap - the carpeting outside was all stained in the hallway. The continental breakfast was in a cheesy room. The lobby was a "Motel 6" lobby. I also left an item which I asked them to mail to me. it never arrived.
