9 reviews for Best Western Hilltop Inn, Redding
would go again despite some problems
By over the hill, 06/27/08
Bring your own hair dryer. The one in the room has one speed. High!!! Also if in a wheelchair and paralzed on one side the toilet and the shower aren't mathed. For instance if the bar for the toilet is on the right side the one for the shower is on the left. No way they can change it unless a very expensive remodel. On the pro side the staff is terrific. And that includes everyone that works there. And the martinis are the best we've ever had. If we ever get to Redding we will stay there again. This is our second time.

Good place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/27/08
We really enjoyed staying here. Location is convenient to I5. Good restaurant/bar on site for dinner. Above average free buffet hot breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, hot oatmeal. Comfortable, clean, large room. Free internet in rooms. Very friendly, helpful staff.

An oasis after an 800 mile road trip
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/22/07
It has been a long and tiring summer day, 800 miles from Northern Idaho on back roads. The motel was easy to find - right off the freeway, and check in was a breeze. The room was spacious, clean and the air-conditioning was on. Also, we couldn't hear the freeway at all. And the bed was perfect - we slept great! We typically don't eat in hotel restaurants as service and food quality are generally disappointing. But we aren't familiar with Redding and couldn't find any place close by that looked appealing. So, we came back and decided to try the hotel restaurant - and were so happy we did. They were very busy, but the service was remarkable. The menu was creative and the food was very tasty. A free breakfast was included with the room, and we were very pleased with the hot breakfast buffet in the morning, too. We will definitely stay here again if we travel through Redding.

Good Place in Redding
By David, 06/29/07
Stayed here after reading the reviews of this and other motels in Redding. As mentioned this location was redone in 2005 and it still looks good. It's still a motel, but if your going to Redding your not going to spend much time hanging around the room with all the outside activites around. For a traveling family the full breakfast on-site sealed the deal. It's great to not have to worry about finding the first meal of the day. The one oddity, was that the resteraunt has a special Sunday Brunch, and if you want to have that you pay ten dollars extra. Also if yo don't get the brunch they seat you in a meeting room out of the main dining area. I presume they must have had a lot brunch poachers over the years. The brunch looked good but we opted for the basic breakfast instead. Staff was freindly and helpful as well. We'll go back here next time.

Great Time
By Les, 04/25/07
I was happy to hear that the hotel went through a remodel and it showed. The room was large, comfortable and peaceful that made for a great night’s sleep. The room was very clean along with the hotels amenities. There is a bar and restaurant located within the hotel and it was a nice treat to have a "good" breakfast included with the room rate. I must say the price was on the upper end of a Best Western and I might shop around a little next time. Other than price, I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

Pretty Cool place to be....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/14/06
Great staff....when it comes to hotel stays, I can be a problem child....the evening staff will usually go out of their way to get you6 whatever you want (for a reasonable tip). Across the street you can find Bert and Ernie's Night Club....very bumpin' on Ffriday and Saturday Nights.... When in Redding, be sure to tell the staff of these 2 business' that Mr. Banger sends his love. They will treat you very well.

Worst hotel i have ever stay at!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/17/05
I travel 5 days a week first time here must tell you, front desk personel are the worst, she said she worked here 14 years hard to believe, she was so rude not just to me but guests before me. Room was old shower was filthy, carpet had burn holes in it, and room smelled of bleach, like a pack of dog's had just checked out. Pool area was not very clean, and terrible towels. This is a place is a terrible example for best western ,as most other of there hotels are very nice, this place needs new mangement, aand proably a overall of some of its staff. I have never been treated so lousy at any other hotel i have stay at, and i stay in a hotel 4 nights a week.

A great place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/02/05
Our famly of five stayed here in July 2005. The location was good, and within a short driving distance to shops, restaurants and the water park. The staff was friendly and they loan out DVDs at the front desk. They have more hotel staff than I have ever seen for this size hotel. The outdoor pool was fine. They have an on site restaurant and bar, but the hotel was quiet. The complimentary breakfast was the best on our trip: a buffet offering a hot breakfast in the on site restaurant! We definitely will stay here again.
