L'Auberge du Lac Hotel & Casino, Lake Charles

I previous gave a negative review...and hand delivered it to the exist staff because of a bartender I met 10 min. after we got there. We were to originally spent 1 night...'Birthday weekend"..but we actually checked out. But other employees were so nice and accomodating we decided to stay another day. We blow off the incident and the next bartender apog... for the other bartender & from that point on..we actually had a great time....so now....I would recommend this establishment. We will return...we just won't have anything to do with the previous bartender......lol. Look like a lot of the employees were new tooo, they could stand some help with customer service etc. but they had good intentions.

I enjoyed everything about L'Auberge du Lac Hotel & Casino, great room and the fresh seafood was wonderful. But the thing that sticks in my mind is the man, who was winning at the craps table, then he walked over to the Roulette table and he won there also. I ask him how he did it and he told me he got the information from rolltowin55, he went on to say that he has been to 8 different casinos and has won at every one of them, has anybody out there ever heard of this before, because I am considering emailing them for more information.

My fiance and I came for his New Bath work retreat, and i fell in love with the pool area. There is an adults only pool section with a heated pool that was a relaxing break from my 2 girls at home in New Orleans. The food was very good also. Everyone enjoyed themselves at the Jack Daniels bar downstairs also. But the best part was the view over the pool area and water from our room.

My husband and I really needed a quick get-away. He surprised me with a last minute weekend reservation at L'Auberge du Lac Hotel & Casino. We had a wonderful time getting to know each other again. I was surprised at the elegance. The room was clean and comfortable. Slots were a blast. Buffet was out of this world. My only complaint would be the low lighting in the bathroom. I’m planning to take my daughters sometime next year, if we can get Paw-Paw to watch the babies. If not we’ll take them with us. The pool looked very inviting.

We use to go alot to La Barge and gambled the whole time we were there. But since they changed the comp program we will go far less than before. The comp program is less than many other casinos we visit, so we will now go to them. I do not want to pay for meals when I am playing $3,000.00 in a day. Give away less vehicles and small gifts and give a better comp program, you will have more people playing. I talk to people sitting next to me in the casino all of the time and everyone says the same thing, they are not interested in a giveaway just better comps and more payback on slots.

Question is what I disliked: Losing, but I did win some. Course if you play the lottery then you should expect the same from a casino. Room we stayed in was excellent, room service on time and courteous. Food there was excellent, including the buffet. Nice place to go.

I like everything. There’s the pool, arcade and little shops on the first floor. I don't know much of the casino do to the fact that I’m just a 13 year old. Although I really enjoy the restaurant because of the different variety it has in food option. I've been there many times and the place just gets better and better. My family enjoy going to this hotel/casino even though we live in Houston and this place is at Lake Charles.

Up until Pinnacle decided to revamp their Mychoice program, the comps and cash back were pretty decent. Now I get even less back in comps and cash even though I still spend the same. I spend about 10 times as much there than I do Coushatta and yet Coushatta has much better comps and looser slots. I like Lauberge and the people that work there, but Pinnacle is going to get way less of my money now.

I love this resort and the feel of the resort, its like you are a tropical island and not in the middle of Lake Charles, La. THis is my second trip here to see family and I came back for my neices graduation and wanted to bring my husband. We stayed three nights and could NOT get our room cleaned. We even asked if we could please get it cleaned and new towels. When we returned to the room they had just thrown the cover over the bed and new towels were just put on the bathroom counter. Nothing was cleaned or wiped down. The service poolside was horrible. The waitresses acted like it was a HUGE inconvience for them to stop and wait on you and that was everyday. We went to the Jack Daniels Bar to eat and was met by the same horrible attitutde. I felt that everyone that worked there was angry that we were even there disrupting there day. I did enjoy the people who worked at the Glow Bar, very sweet and always checked on us, this was theeeee only bright spot. For the money we paid in airfare and the room, it was the biggest disappointment. I will not return, not for that kind of money with that kind of attitudes and poor service.

I liked my cupcake that was free for my birthday. It's 3 hr drive from Houston. And I really enjoyed the group we went with - they can make even the worst experience fun. However, Beyond that, very, very disappointed. This was our 5th time to LDL. Everything has continued the downhill slide. No attention to details. The Restaurants, the service, cleanliness of the rooms, $25 minimum on black jack tables (really even on a Monday?) and the worst is they DON'T CARE! We arrived on Sunday and came home Tuesday. The room was not clean. Bare minimum towels. No bathrobes or slippers of which they advertise. Only 1 glass in the room both nights. We went to Ember that used to be the Snake River Grill. Very disappointing. More expensive, wine list is less impressive & more expensive, food is not as good - $70 porterhouse was not as good & cost more, service was just ok. We had a good 2007 Foxey Syrah for $105. Disappointed and we won't go back to Ember! The Asia Noodle Bar was good, but some of our entre's were served cool not hot. The cafe' burger was good. The globar was fun and we played there most the time since the black jack minimums were $25. They had open BJ tables, so not sure why they couldn't have some at $10 or $15 minimum. I would have played more! So when I check out, I asked to put any comps agains my room. $1.83 was all that I had accumulated after loosing $220 between slots & $100 at the BJ table. So when I check out she asked how I enjoyed my stay. I told her not so much and began to elaborate. As I begin to explain, she handed me the total bill of $650 for room & restaurant charges and asked me if I would like to put it on my CC. I stated yes. She handed me the slip to sign and told me to "Have a Nice Day". Next please..... Well, if you are going to ask how my stay was, at least act a little bit interested. So Vegas... here we come!! I will be better served, better entertained, better food & $1,000 goes a long way there. Don't waste your time any longer at LDL, you will only be disappointed!! Their name should be Laberge de LACK! More fitting.
