Bella Maggiore Inn, Ventura

Great location, historic, quaint, clean and the service is fine. I stay there for overnight business often and love the business mans special; a great offer! Oh yeah and the Free breakfast; not your pastry and juice mind you but a full fledged meal. very satisfying indeed. Rich H.

The rooms look like they have not been cleaned well since the 90's. The cleaning staff looks like they just walked in off the street. Management was extremely rude. Noisy. Not a place I would refer to anyone that liked even a little bit.

... is great -- right in the center of town. The service provided by the hotel staff is fair. The place is pretty and the rooms are comfortable. The furnishings are frayed and worn around edges, however. Nonetheless, the hotel is reasonably priced and still has charm, and Nona's in the tranquil courtyard is a great place for breakfast!

My husband and I were regulars at the Seal Beach Inn and Gardens for about 15+ years. It closed, the innkeepers are in Idaho now with an inn there. So we needed another! A couple we met in Catalina (I think it's the Bakersfield couple) recommended this place. The gardens are not like SBI, the rooms are not as decorated and detailed with antiques, but it was still very nice. Affordable, a great breakfast and wonderful location. The building is beautiful. We will be return often I am sure!

The place was so noisy and outdated..... cheap all the way. Nona's Cafe was VERY nice and the servers were awesome. Great breakfast. It just wasn't for us. Guess you get what you pay for! Have to give a great review for Cafe Fiorne located across the street which was awesome. Highly recommended. The mission was gorgeous. Weather was lovely and warm. Downtown was fun. Next time we will glady pay more to stay else where!

For an overnight stop in Ventura on a restful vacation, we were excited about the old world charm the Bella Maggiore Inn had to offer. Within walking distance of Main Street and the lovely Cafe Fiore, we thought we couldn't go wrong. The price was even right for one night with the generous business travel discount they offer. All was well until: -The shower sprayed ice cold water in the middle of a hot shower -The jets on the bath tub did not work easily -We were told we could not have too much fruit for breakfast as the chef complained (I only eat fruit by the way) -The main lobby (right near the breakfast area) wreaked of cleaning products and sounds of a vacuum in the morning and gave us a headache -The clocks in the room were 1/2 hour incorrect All would have been fine except for the fact when I simply stated to the front desk what had occurred, the woman helping us stated that she wanted to give us a gift certificate. A lovely gesture, but she said first she would talk with her manager and she would give us a call a bit later. Not expecting anything, the manager later called us to merely say that all of our "so-called" complaints were completely invalid and that we had no right to say anything at all!! She was completely rude and I might have considered returning if it were not for the simple fact that this woman basically called on my vacation to invalidate my poor experience at the Bella Maggiore Inn. I will never return to this hotel and I expect if you read this review that you consider another hotel.

When I booked the room via the internet and I had never heard of the The Bella Maggoire Inn. I was attending a concert up in the area and the Bella Maggoire Inn was just a block from the venue. So I booked our room there for convenience. When I walked in, I instantly fell in love with the whole place. It was like stepping back in time. We were greeted warmly, the staff was friendly and helpful. Having only 2-stories, there isn't an elevator, be prepared to take your own bags up to your room. Other than that, we greatly enjoyed our stay. The complimentary full breakfast was outstanding, and the service was great at Nona's. The Bella Maggoire is just minutes from the beach, and within walking distance to several shops and restaurants. A great little place to stay.

The room was a wonderful mix of comfort and old world style. We loved the atmoshpere of both the hotel and Nona's Restaurant. It was exactly the weekend getaway that we were looking for. The location (close to the beach and a wonderful downtown) as well as the hotel staff were what will bring us back many times.

My Boyfriend and I Love the Bella Maggiore! The staff was Great and very helpful we had room 18 which was very nice with a view over looking the Beautiful Nona's Court yard Cafe where we had a wonderful breakfast. We'll be back......

hotel was very beautiful, but the service was horrible. No eye contact, and the girl working was extremely rude. Very unwilling to answer any questions about our stay or the town alone. I have never been treated so poorly before while staying at any hotel.
