Hotel Aldini, Florence

They really dont smile at the front desk. The owner turns off the AC at 12:00 midnight and if you open the windows you hear the drunks breaking bottles on the streets. The worst thing about this hotel was the noise. The church started ringing at 5 am and then rang every hour.

You cannot beat the location of this hotel - right outside the Duomo, in the center of the city. We've stayed twice, and will be returning soon for our third visit. The rooms are simple, but neat and clean, and the service is friendly and helpful.

We were at this hotel at the end of May 2007. The location of this hotel is just great. Fifteen minutes walk from the train staion. Just a stone throw from the Dumo and shopping. The staff very friendly and helpfull. However the rooms and bathrooms were not clean. Their breakfast was awful!!!! Not worth a dime. I would not stay there again. I rather spend a little more and stay at another hotel in exact same area.

We have stayed here 4 times and love this hotel. Roberto and Elizabetta are wonderful hosts. Their attention to detail is fantastic. This hotel is wonderfully situated. Room 101 has a great side view of the Duomo. Excellent value for your money. Can't wait to visit again.

this was a spotless little hotel located on the 3rd floor with lift. a friendly staff that was very helpful. the location perfect for a walking tour of florence. taxis easy to hail when ones feet get tired. our room had 2 tall windows that opened onto the street and the view was charming. the bed a bit low for older folks but comfy none the less. there was no easy chair in the room but that was the only thing missing. the room was so clean it sparkled. breakfast consisted of rolls and jam and very good hot chocolate. with all the places for a bite of this or that, a spare breakfast should be the least of anyones concerns. signor aldini himself was a great help to us. our contact person in venice spoke no english and he was gracious enough to make a phone call to venice to straighten our our small problems. he also deciphered our air transfers from venice to brussels. we felt this was way beyond the call of duty and were very greatful. he also sent us to a nice restaurant for dinner. everyone was very nice and i would tell anyone to stop at this little hotel.
