snooty and old fashioned, odd check in process
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/27/11
If you want to stay at an old fashioned, snooty golf club with outdated fixtures and check in procedures resembling applying for a bank account (seriously, checking in took 20 minutes), this is the place for you. The rooms are huge but outdated, basic items like the shower head were non-functional (ours was permanently set to high-pressure single-jet hose, the adjuster didn't work), and for me worst of all the pool, which is an ugly basic lap pool with no landscaping or poolside service, is rented out daily to local swimming clubs and schools and you can't get in there even if you should want to swim laps (my husband went down for an early morning swim and even early in the morning all the lanes were taken by local schoolkids).

A disappointment
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/15/11
I was never offered a mountain view room. We ended up with a view of the parking lot and tennis courts. Every morning before 7 a.m. someone came and used a very noisy leaf blower. Not the sort of thing you like to hear that early when on a vacation. The kitchen was a joke. Not even the most basic supplies were provided, like a cooking pot, salad bowl or decent knife. We found a filthy, greasy broiler pan in the oven. The pool, we were told, is for lap swimming only. The rooms (we had a suite) were decent enough, if a bit gloomy in color and decor. I won't go back.

nice little desert home
By revo, 7/20/08
it was a good place to stay, especially since we were travelling with a 4-year-old. it had a kitchen, a pull-out sofa, a king bed, and a shower where 20 people could have fit. the dynamics of the room weren't great--tv and bed weren't in prime viewing range--but the room was huge and comfy. it was fun watching rain and thunderstorms pass through each day. the 24 dollar resort fee is ridiculous, but the people were nice and accommodating. it's far enough out of town where you're up in the hills, but only 10 minutes max from good restaurants and a trader joe's. would stay there again.

I Live in tucson and wanted to have a quiet mini-vacation. their rooms were beautifil and huge. I upgraded to the mountain view which was well worth it, as I had a perfect view of one of their courses. I have recomended this hotel to family coming to visit.

The Lodge at Ventana Canyon
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/10/04
We went there to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary.
They upgraded the room for us and sent a bottle of champagne and a fruit and cake plate on the night of the anniversary! (they compensated us for the inconvenience of the parking lot improvement during our stay)The staff was nice and friendly, the room was fantastic and private. We had three wonderful days in this lodge that we never forget!
