way over priced & no boat parking
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/05/10
This hotel is only good for the location. They have not put one dollar into remodeling or up keeping the hotel in years. Most of the time when you are there during the summer month’s you cant even get boat parking because it is very limited in parking space. Plus the prices are way too much for the benefits offered. You will see for yourself if you dare stay here

worn and tired
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/17/09
Had looked forward to staying at the Nautical Resort as I had visited many times on business 20 yrs ago...nothing has changed...worn out linens are 20 yrs old, mattresses are 20 yrs old (with egg crate covers like hospitals use instead of memory foam), carpet is 20 yrs old and soiled,$15 "resort fee" to use pool, get ice, get internet...At $139 a night, off season, not a good deal. If you were travelling with kids, the beach front rooms would be fun for them to play in the water. In spite of the lovely setting, would not go back again. Just too worn out and run down.

This place is ok, however...

Renovation is in order. The cost to stay is way over priced. Access to the rooms beach front is a bit of a chore. We will not be staying here again.

Love this place!
By Tracy, 06/06/09
Our family & friends have been frequent visitors to the Nautical Inn for over 10 years. This place has everything you’d want if you love water and boating activities. There is a choice of room accommodations from newly updated luxurious rooms to standard non-renovated rooms which are all at different price points. All rooms are lakefront with great views of the lake. There is a private launch ramp that is very convienient, rather than waiting in long lines to launch. Guests can moor their watercraft on the beach overnight, or opt to rent a guest slip. There is a pool on the property that offers towels. But with the fresh water lake, who needs the pool? There is a nice restaurant with water views, as well as the well known hot spot called the Naked Turtle Grill that directly overlooks the lake, open from morning till night. Its décor is tropical and open with thatch roof & misters. The resort also offers small boutique and a general store with a bag of free ice daily. They have a floating water-park, as well as watercraft rental, if you don’t have your own. Once you get here, you don’t have to leave, so no worries about drinking and driving once you pull your boat up on the beach. It’s there for the night and so are you. I love that we don’t have to rush out of bed to get the boat on the water. We can take our time; have some morning coffee on the lake front lanai. Nor do we have to rush back to the ramp before dark. This makes our trip much more relaxing. Last positive comment… they now allow dogs to stay in the Point Rooms for an additional nightly fee. This is great for pet owners who love to bring their dogs. The only negative thing I could say is house keeping service is very very slow. I think the staff must be off work by time we’re ready to come back to our rooms and shower for the evening. A bit of advice.. if you happen to catch house keeping, ask for additional towels for the evening/next morning.

They call it a "Resort"??????????
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/05/09
The room had a musty old smell, and furniture and deco was outdated. Pool had no style at all, the jacuzzi was very old and very plain. Ad states there is a tennis court???? Where is that hidden? There are also rodents by the rooms and bats. Won't see me there again.

The place to be!!!!!!!
By steveh, 01/21/08
It was clean. The room was like new. No waiting in crazy launch ramp lines to get in or out. It's location is right on the water front and on the island. Beautiful!

Can not believe anyone would want to return to this place !!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/09/08
We just returned from the Nautical Inn from Wisconsin. What a poorly managed placed !! I can see why this place is rated only two stars, in reality it should be rated 1/2 of one star. You pay a resort fee on top of the room rate, in return (we were told when making our reservations) you get free golf, continental brekfast but there was no free golf, and the continental breakfast if free coffe and that is it. Don't sleep in, your room has to be cleaned by 11:00am or forget it. Also the maid can not read the do not disturb sign on the door. We talked to three different people at the front desk and recieved three different reply's, mostly "I just work here". DO NOT GO TO THE NAUTICAL !!

Coming back for more...
By leslie g, 09/28/07
We stayed at Nautical Inn last year and are coming back again next month. We love the private beach and love leaving our jetskis right on the beach, where we can see them from our room. Room and amenities were nice and everything was clean. Staff was friendly and accomodating. My kids spent our entire vacation playing on the beach last year! They are so excited for our upcoming trip. The only negative was the neglected laundry room. We used it every night out of necessity to wash our beach towels -- but the laundry room was filthy! It looked like it had not been cleaned in at least a year. The assortment of dead bugs in the laundry room window still stands out in my mind as a total gross-out. Hopefully the laundry room will be in better condition this year.

Labor Day - Bad News
By Michael Welch, 09/26/07
We were hoping to have a wonderful time Labor Day weekend with my husband and new boat. The staff were rude and unhelpful and the room and entire hotel was dirty and old. We actually checked out a day early and gave up the money we spent on our third night just to get out of this place. Thanks but no thanks!

We had to be moved twice after 10 pm because of leaky ceilings. Water poored from above soaking everything. The location was nice.
