Rodeway Inn and Suites Conference Center, Homewood

I had a really great time at Rodeway. I liked it so much that when ever I go to Birmingham this is the place I'm gonna stay. The rates are low the rooms are clean and the beds are comfy what more can I ask for.

BEDBUGS in the bed with me! My granddaughter was in the other bed and looked over and saw a bed bug crawling on my bed toward me. We got up and trapped him in a cup and took him to the front desk where the lady at the desk argued with us that it was a tick. We decided maybe it was the only one. About 20 minutes later while in the restroom my granddaughter found another one crawling on the bed. Also evidence on the back of the mattress of an infestation of them. We promptly packed our things and checked out. Upon check out the girl argued with us again that it was not bed bugs, and was very nasty with us, demanding "Give me my keys!" and "you can't prove those came from here". This event has been documented with pictures and reported to the board of health locally.

This was my first hotel experience with my husband and we loved it! Everything was clean and the staff were very nice! The room was wonderful for the price and the bed was extremely comfortable. I have no real complaints about this hotel although you should know that the club and the pool are not longer available. I don't know how good the breakfast but I do know that I would recommend this place and stay here again. Wonderful experience :)

Rodeway Inn in Hometown, AL. The condition of this hotel is repulsive. I arrived after booking thru my choice hotels priveleges website to find unsanitary conditions throughout hotel. No water in pool, 1 working ice machine, literally a box of Honey Buns opened on counter and served as "complimentary breakfast". My room had no phone, no alarm clock, no refrig, no ice bucket, no cups, no coffee maker, no iron, no trash cans, no working tv, ac was off and the room was at least 90 degrees. The staff would make no allowances on bill for room. DO NOT STAY HERE!

This dump was a quality control nightmare. Among many, many problems: Internet service was extremely poor or non-working. The bed was missing a sheet (in 40+ years of traveling I've never encountered this) & there were burn holes in the bedspread. The television was poor quality, particularly in sound & I couldn't get the remote control to work. The refrigerator badly needed defrosting. I had to move the bed to plug in one of the bedside lamps. Carpet in the hall outside of the room had major stains. The toilet back lid was broken with part of it missing, a mirror had been stripped from the bath door leaving holes, hardware, and rough, mismatched paint. There were visible holes in the bathroom wall where hardware been removed. I generally stay in economy hotels but I expect internet use to be easy and the connection to be viable, and I expect to have a clean sheet between myself and the blanket, which has been exposed to who knows what and not regularly laundered. Although it may seem trivial, the rate charged was 30-35 cents higher than the 6 foot sign out front and large sign out back, which I found blatantly insulting, as was the $5 credit issued in response to my complaint.

My husband and I were in town for a wedding reception and we stayed here because our other hotel we booked at canceled our reservation. The hotel is very clean and the front desk staff were super nice. We did not expect much due to the low rates, however it is a fairly nice establishment in which was recently remodled. Parking was free, which is at most hotels/motels, but we felt safe with a well-lit parking lot. The pool was very pretty and we enjoyed our quick swim before our dinner. My last remarks being it was 100+ degrees outside, it was no question it was going to be hot anywhere you go, however we had no problems with our air conditioning anywhere in this hotel. In fact, our room cooled off so quickly that I asked my husband to turn it off in the middle of the night. Our overall experience with this hotel was above average and it was just a cherry on top to have a great rate.

The hotel clerks were very rude. We were promised a coffee maker in the room, there was none. The air conditioning did not work, we were told that there was nothing wrong with it. When we asked for extra towels to go swimming we were told that we would have to pay extra for them. They only gave us two towels for 4 people that were booked into the room. After only being at the hotel for an 1.5 hours we decided that we wanted our money back so we could go to another hotel. The extremely rude clerk refused, saying that nothing was wrong with the room and that everything worked fine. While we were discussing the situation with the clerk, another potential customer came in, and asked the clerk if the air conditioning worked, the clerk said that it worked fine, I told the potential customer that my air conditioning was not working, so the guy left. At that point the clerk told me he was going to call the police on me. I am 62 years old mind you, so I left and went else where. I would highly recommend nobody stay here. All they want is your money, they don't care about the air conditioning working when it is 100 degrees out. I am currently fighting to get my money back, they still refuse to give it back, I have had to contact the corporate office to try to get it back. The clerk said that I caused him a customer because I told the customer that the air conditioning in my room was not working. The employees of this hotel are DISHONEST!

We stayed here on a spur of the moment thing. The hotel looked very nice from the outside and was just as nice on the inside. They did have some renovations going on, so I am sure its only going to look better. The room we were put in was very clean and nice. If had to complain about something, i'd say it would be that the ice machine on our floor did not work, but one of the hotel employees personally came to our rooms and brought us ice. For the price, you just cant complain and only appreciate. Breakfast was nothing spectacular, but we enjoyed that as well. Again, for the price, this is a bargain clean comfortable place!

good clean rooms. breakfast is better then average but mostly standard. I've never stayed in a roadway inn before but this hotel was acutally pretty nice. I'll be back in town again in May, so I'm staying here again.

I stay at many hotels across the country when my husband and I travel. This hotel was very nice. We paid a very cheap rate and received a very clean and nice room. The staff was very accommodating and easy to talk to. We had a great time in Birmingham and I recommend this hotel to everyone!
