Will stay again!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/27/09
We drove to Huntsville from Kentucky to visit the U.S. Space and Rocket Center. We walked into this Marriott to check room availibility because it is right there at the Space Center. We were greeted with warmth and an available room. When we got up to our room it was VERY clean. The view we had were the Space Rockets, which our son loved, and we could look down on the outdoor pool. The beds and pillows are the absolute best. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. They even helped us find a scrapbook store. The desk clerks, the gentleman that takes care of the floors, room service, the housekeepers, I mean EVERYONE was exceptionally friendly. We will definently stay at this hotel again. Management & Staff Horrible
By Denise, 08/07/08
My husband, son, 84 year old mother and myself drove from Michigan to Alabama for a funeral. When we arrived at this hotel, we encountered problem after problem. It started with the rate that we reserved the hotel at being raised over 50% of the secured price with a credit card hold, to being told that services could be refused to us because we questioned it, to them finding out my husband is a Deputy Sheriff, and given a four dollar discount per night. We were scheduled to stay two nights, we cancelled the second night, paid a higher rate to move to another hotel where we received fabulous service. The other hotel was not that great at all, but WE decided to refuse giving them another dime of our money. We requested towels four times, a roll-a-bed four times, until finally we went to the front desk, and person after person including the so called manager lied. Do not recommend anyone to stay here. Horrible front desk staff, and management. We also asked for corporates number and was given a bogus phone number. Requested it again from the young man who brought the bed up to us, and never received it from him either. HORRIBLE!

Not this Marriott
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/06/08
Didn't care for this Marriott. Seemed a little dated and the rooms were small. The restaurant was just average. Just didn't like the overall feel of this place.

Not interested in renting rooms
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/23/08
Called 4 times to get a room reservation and COULDN'T DO IT. Their phone lines had something wrong and I couldn't hear the reservationists 3 times. The 4th time I called and told the operator about the problem, who transfered me to the front desk, who wouldn't make a reservation for me nor would she let me speak with the manager to let that person know there was a problem. Apparently, the manager was "in a meeting." It seems to be more important for meeting seats to be filled than to actually ensure this hotel is able to rent rooms to customers who want them. The final resolution, for them anyway, was to tell me to make online reservations. I am unable to give a good review, as I was unable in 4 phonecalls, to obtain the services from this hotel for which they are supposed to be in business: renting a room. Unbelievable.

The best hotel in that town
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/28/07
I was impressed at the quality of service rendered and how wonderfully "kept up" the hotel is even though it is an older building. I payed $185.80 for the room and wasnt too happy that internet requires a charge but I found out that all hotels of this caliber charge for internet. I saw a lady get very rude with a front desk person about the internet and breakfast not comming with the rate and I was like "come on! this is a full service hotel, what do you expect! I had wished the front desk person would have told them to go to hampton inn or motel 6 but she was very kind and professional. The steakhouse rocked! I had FRIED MACORONI AND CHEESE! It's nothing like Fridays it was so much better there. Also their grilled salmon was awesome and they put cranberries in the rice which actually tasted pretty good. I will definetly stay here again! Oh yea their pool is really cool and they let you order food there TOO@! Oh yea, their beds are the best!

Poor Value compared to Hampton Inns
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/05/07
Have stayed here many times but was surprised to find the Hampton Inns in Huntsville to be of equal quality and a far better value.

Not the Usual Marriot
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/15/06
The location is wonderful, however this is not like the Marriots that I normally stay in around the world. We had a reservation and were given the Cabana. It was nothing more that a room that I would expect at a $50 Motel. I paid $114 per night. I would say that the Hampton Inn is ever bit as nice as this Marriot. I have not doubt that the main building is wonderful, but not the Cabana for the money. Be sure what you are getting.
