Great place to stay.
By T, 8/28/08
I found this hotel online, and booked a room, primarily because of the amazing discount provided for military. My husband is stationed at the nearby Army base for job training. As such, I was staying in my room alone for the majority of my stay. I booked a king suite, the room had a nice king size bed, the bed wasn't perfectly comfortable, but the pillows were very nice and the sheets were comfortable. The room also had a kitchenette and we were able to use a crockpot to cook meals inhouse. The staff is wonderful and friendly and the maids were thorough, quick and friendly to talk to. I felt very safe staying here alone, and I ended up in the room for a little over a week. The room was well worth the money (with my discount, and because I stayed for a longer period of time, I ended up paying $34 a night.) I would absolutely return to this hotel for future visits. The hotel is located in Madison, which is right next to Huntsville. Whereas Huntsville is somewhat crowded, loud and obnoxious, Madison is very quiet, yet offers a plethora of good restuarants and shopping. I definitely recommend this hotel!

Good value for the money!
By thehooterman, 6/11/08
Quiet. Located with easy access to I-565. Close to the airport, but the taxi companies will charge you a $20 minimum because they have to come out of Huntsville to get you. Refrigerator and microwave, but no hair dryer. Very helpful staff. Breakfast is basic fruits and cereals. At $48/night it is a great value.

No high-speed internet...
By Bob Smith, 5/8/07
When I required extended stay accommodations in Huntsville the Federal Square Inn sounded like just the ticket. A phone call confirmed that they had wireless high speed access, so it seemed perfect. The accommodations were great, but the wireless quit working one week after I arrived. I inquired politely 3 times over the next two and a half weeks, and finally when I confronted the desk staff about the situation they were rude, unaccommodating, and completely unsympathetic. Basically I was told to use the "data port", which is simply dial-up access. Aside from being long distance to reach my home ISP, it is, obviously incredibly slow compared to broadband. When I pointed this out, I was rebutted with, "Well, I'm perfectly happy with it!" If you need reliable internet access, I would not consider the Federal Square Inn.

Good for construction workers
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/21/06
The shower wouldn't drain, the pool was dirty. The remote for the tv didn't work. Finilly had to unplug tv to get it off as it kept coming back on. Very tight with everything. Very old motel. Contenal breakfast is a doughnut and coffee.
