bates motel would be better
By connie, 07/07/09
Yes, there is a pool, but it doesn't have any water in it. The ice machine is broken, there are no vending machines in the area marked vending, and we had to take the lid off the toilet tank in order to flush it. Cigarette burns everywhere. We were told by the police that the hotel had become a known hub for drug-related activity. A large amount of roofing shingles were blown off during a severe thunderstorm, and no effort was made to clean the debris out of the parking lot. It's very sad to see this hotel deteriorate as it has been allower to. I worked here for a while, and the hotel was the center of civic activity in this city. The Kiwanis, Rotary ,and most other civic clubs met here for lunch. The loung feataured live entertainment, and the restaurant was always full. There were proms, wedding receptions, and class reunions here. Apparently the new owners intend to suck as much profit as possible out of this building before it collapses from lack of maintenance and upkeep.

Yes,there is a pool, but it doesn't have water in it. the ice machine is broken, there are no vending machines in the area marked "vending", and we were told by police officers that the hotel was a known site for drug related activities. Part of the roof was blown off during a severe thunderstorm, and no effort was made to clean the debris out of the parking lot. Back in the day, I worked at this once-proud hotel. It was the hub of civic activity in the city, since all the clubs (rotary, kiwanis, etc) met here. It was used for proms, wedding receptions, class reunions, and other large functions. The hotel lounge featured live entertainment, and the restaurant was always full. It's very sad to see this building decline as much as it has. Apparently the new owners intend to milk all the profits that theypossibly can out of this disentegrating building, and then just let it collapse.

Worst hotel I ever stayed at
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/01/07
The room had a funky smell and very outdated decor. The bathroom was the worst. The shower faucet didn't turn off and there were burn marks on the tub. The tub was fiberglass and there must have been water trapped underneath because it was like taking a shower on a trampoline. WE were down for the race so unfortunately no other rooms were available. Believe me we would have changed in a minute even though the room was already paid for and there were no refunds. the sheets seemed clean although I was very hesitant to get into bed. I will sleep in my car before I stay here again. (By the way, there may have been a pool & restaurant at one time but not in recent past.) STAY AWAY!!!!

Make sure you want to stay here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/09/06
Made a reservation for three nights. Was told through travel network a one night stay would be charged to my credit card. All three nights were charged to my card. I've been trying for over a month to cancel my reservation and they refuse to cancel/refund money. Beware!!

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT
By a_mad_nurse, 07/15/05
The pool was closed in the middle of summer b/c of "problems" The "carpet" was some kind of cloth. The sink was clogged and two discusting substances came out of the drain. The bed was extremely hard and springs sometimes poked out. Cigg. burns all over the tub, the TV wasn't black and white it was green and white, and the remote didn't work. there is more, but I am tired......I didn't get much sleep last night. I felt like I was in a horror flick. We did NOT spend the night!!!!!
