Golden Parnassus Resort & Spa Adults Only All-Inclusive, Zona Hotelera

I was shipped here after being told my original reservation can not be honored by Temptation because they were over booked. Then I was told this was a 5 star resort NOT! The rooms smelled like a sewer and the food sucked. There were more kids than an elementry schoold and the elevators took up to 20 minutes to get to my floor. I'm so mad I can't remember the rest! Oh the shower was dripping brown water the AC was on 24/7 and it was cold outside,

no children, spa, location, and cleanliness was great excellent food and variety

Ever see that episode of Seinfeld when he reserves a car but when he gets there they have no car for him. That was our trip to the Golden Parnassus. Booked it 7 months in advance. Got to the hotel, they took our luggage, sat us down with drinks and said..oh, we overbooked and we don't have a room for you. After the inital shock and aggrevation wore off, we said ok now what. What's going on? what is the golden parnassus going to do for us. Well they put us in the sister hotel the Great Parnassus, which should have been called. the "it'll be great in 2 years when we finish it, Parnassus". Paid for a Deluxe ocean view, gave us a lovely view of the side of the Hilton and we could hear the hum of the AC units, which in our room kept the room at a cool 78 degrees all week. But once they turned the water on, at least we could cool off, if we could see in the bathroom that 3 of the lights didn't work in. The answer we recieved when we complained was "I know".

This is the best place for a family. The hotel offers a "Kids Club" and "Baby Club" for the kid's enjoyment. They make it convenient for mom and dad to have the option of staying with their shild in their kids pool equipped with waterslides and other activities or leaving the children with trained and very pleasant group of hosts. Hours are 9am to 9pm, and they offer babysitting services for an additional but reasonable fee. My husband and I felt very comfortable with the staff and our boys, eight and four had a blast! Crown Paradise Club offers gorgeous one or two bedroom suites for families too. We will be sure to stay at Crown Paradise Club on our next trip to Cancun.

I really liked the hotel, even though when we first got there and found our room a band was playing and it was really loud and kind of hard to sleep. We moved rooms the next day, but I really liked the hotel overall. The put-put was and the basketball courts were fun. The pools were awesome and so were the views. The only bad things about it were that I couldn't find the tennis courts (which wasn't that bad but I really wanted to play) and that I got food poisoning from the fish. YOu got to watch out for it! I did love the all inclusive part of this hotel though, and the food was pretty good. I would like to go back to Cancun I just don't know if I would stay at that hotel again.

This place was an absolute DUMP... Service was horrible. Food was HORRIBLE and the same in each restaurant. The beach was CLOSED for most of the week. The staff did NOTHING to accomodate us for the nonsense. Rooms were dirty. It was an act of god to get the beds made each morning. I would not recommend this place to anyone. this is definitely not a 4 star hotel. i would rate it a one star if that. The resort website and the actual resort are like comparing apples and oranges. marketing for this place gets an A+. Dont waste your money.

The best thing about the hotel was that is was kid-free!!!! When we first checked in, they put us in a room that was already taken but quickly upgraded us to a room with a jacuzzi facing the beautiful water at no additional charge! The outings to the bars were kind of expensive (was wondering where the money really went?!!) The bartenders were cool, and the food was delicious.

I Think they need to replace or repair the air conditioning it was too hot in the wholke resort. Also there were too many bugs in the resort. They also need to add other beers, Corona on tap is horrible!!!

LAST August 2005 we came to Cancun for the first time! The hotel is very nice though it needs a face lift in some places . Our stay there was an excellent experience. We enjoyed ourselves there to the full! Especially as we partecipated in most of the activities that were being organised at the time. The staff there is really wonderful !! I would like to send our love to Johnny, Gustave, Jackie,and Laurel and all of the staff!! A Big Hello also goes to Helen the public relations manager.She was very helpful and made our stay very welcome. We miss you all!! and we are looking forward to come again . We really loved the beds! Very good for your back! The restaurants there are Excillent !! We loved the food especially at the gourmet resaurant Shangrila! All the restaurants give excellent service.The drinks were fine depends on how much you drink normally!I think that the spa is a bit exspensive.!

After being bumped from the Gran Costa due to 150+ teens from Monterrey (Mexico's golden children), I was rebooked for 1 fantastic night at the soon to be renamed Golden Parnassus. This is a great place if you are an adult as it is adults only. This fact is great. No screaming children. The lobby is awesome, as there is a huge dolphin statue in the middle. It is a little dark but where have you ever seen a miniature golf course with statues of Elvis, Laurel and Hardy, Abbott & Costello etc in the lobby! There is a lobby bar, a disco and the pool bar stayed open Saturday night until 2AM. The staff is unbelievably friendly and they truly go out of their way to make this place both memorable and a great stay. They have 50% oceanfront rooms, while I stayed in a Bayfront unit it had its advantages as it was very quiet. Every room has a huge balcony/terrace. There is a great great beach with tons of shade and even a pet Gekko. There is no one single staff member to point out as they are all awesome. If you had the maki rolls over sashimi, the sushi bar is great. If you ate in the Steak House-I heard it was awesome. My conclusion after one night was that this is a great place that while not 5 star, certainly deserves strong consideration by Singles and Adult Couples who prefer value, fun and a great lifestyle over the Prada crowd next store at the fancy 5 star hotel. Were it not for the rooms, I would stay here again. I believe that if you want to truly enjoy a great week in Cancun, this is a great choice. My review of the Gran Costa Real will be provided at the end of my stay. So far so good (food is not as good as Golden Parnassus) and beach is tiny in comparison, but rooms are vastly superior..
