Golden Parnassus Resort & Spa Adults Only All-Inclusive, Zona Hotelera

I have never received such wonderful service in my life. The staff was fabulous. I really miss Jose who tends bar out at the pool bar. He was really alot of fun. Also, my favorite waiter Gilberto, who works in the paradise cafe. He was a sheer delight. The only thing I would improve, is softer beds and to make the buffet available for dinner as well as breakfast and lunch. We were there for one week,my husband ended up in the hospital for two days and the staff couldn't have been sweeter to me. I felt like I was at home (away from home). I would recommend this hotel.

The best resort in the world for the money. We had so much fun the time went by to quickly. The staff is extremly accomidating and sincere. The shows nightly are very entertaining. The Pool Staff keeps everyone active is very friendly and entertaining.

My fiance and I just returned from The Grand Parnassus(don't know why it's listed as "great" above;must have neen a typo)4 nights and 5 days ago. Here's what I can honestly tell you:(1)the service is awesome; the wait staff is sincerely attentive. (2)room service is prompt and efficient, however, the food will always arrive cold(oh well). (3)DO NOT DRINK ANY WATER(unless it has been imported from OUTSIDE of Mexico), not even local bottled water.TRUST ME.drink canned beverages or alcohol-based drinks only. I don't care that the bottled water says that it's filtered;it is still contaminted). (4)the only food worth eating at the Parnassus is at the ShangriLa(excellent chops but tiny portions!!!)

This was my second time in cancun. This was the first at this hotel. The overall expierence was FANTASTIC. Make sure you say hi to Lily and bring her a Hat of your favorite college football team.

Perfect place, will go back every year!!! Nice people, yummy food and comfortable rooms. The spa is like paradise. Never have seen anything like it before.

I just got back from The Golden Crown Paradise Spa and it was the most magnificent experience I have had to date. The service was remarkable. Everyone was helped to the best of their needs. The location could have been a little better, because it is on a back street to the ritz carlton, but it was still easy access to the main road. I would definitely go back to this hotel. Thank you so much!!!!

This was my first vacation with my husband alone after 14 years of marriage and raising 3 boys and all the anmenities that go along with it. Needless to say, we were due for a romantic, relaxing getaway. I don't have any other experience to compare my thoughts to and I probably would have had an enjoyable time no matter where I went but here is my review. We went to Cancun in March of 2006 for our anneversary. We were looking for blue skies, white sandy beaches, inexpensive, all-inclusive, all adult,not crowded and not prestigeous. This is exactly what we found at this hotel. Bobbi Merrill Chandler, AZ The staff was friendly, cordial, fun and the service was excellent. There was always someone there taking your drink order, whether you were on the beach, at the pool, in the lobby... The food was absolutely wonderful, there was bbq, poolside from morning till night, an ongoing breakfast/lunch buffet till 4:00 and 4 restaraunts to choose from for dinner. You definately got your moneys worth all-inclusively with all the food and alcohol. The activities committee was great, they had poolside activities, beach activities and they would take you by bus at night into town to party and bring you back to the hotel by morning. They were really good at getting visitors to participate in activities. They even got my husband involved in a social game of trivia by the pool which really surprised me, he, not beeing social around people he doesn't know. One night we had a very formal, romantic dinner served to us in our room which was very exquisite. We took advantage of the couples massage that the spa had to offer. You could get your massage in the spa or on the beach. We chose the spa and I have to say, it was wonderful. The cost was only 100.00 for both of us for a whole hour. The hotel had nightly shows but we were only there for 4 days and engaged in a few outside activities so we didn't get to attend. The room, well, I have a few thoughts here. We stayed in the golden club room which had a jacuzzi and what I thought would be an ocean view. When I booked, I read beach front view or lagoon. Well, lagoon sounded lovely to me so I didn't specify. Let's just say, the beachfront view should have been the way to go and I'm sure that if I had complained, the staff would have accomidated us gladly but we were so happy to be there that looking out over the back parking lot with the blasting sound of the generator was not a big deal at the time. The bed was horrible!LOL Hard as rock but again, being so happy to be there, all the more pleasurable it made our massages. The room was simple, nothing fancy but very clean with flowers, petals and face cloths molded into little animals. The fridge was always stocked with cold soda, water and beer but is just a fridge, not a bar as specified in the description. Overall, for the price, the hospitality, service and the relaxization that I was looking for, I would reccomend this one and would stay there again. I would, definately specify the suite with the ocean view next time.

My husband and I arrived at the resort and found the overall appearance to be somewhat dated. This resort was more than likely built in the 70's and has not been updated since. We have visited multiple Cancun and surrounding area resorts and have found the majority to be updated and georgeous in appearance. We were not impressed here. The main lobby consists of a bar, check in area, three shops, access to two restaurants and a large indoor mini golf, which no one in the resort seemed to use during our stay. This was a strange place to have a mini golf. We were very hungry when we arrived and went straight to the buffet in which we found the appearance of the restaurant to be 'average' and the food to be disappointing. If you are big food person then this resort is not for you. The staff seem to attempt to make the food good looking, however, the taste is no match for the appearance. We found ourselves hungry for the entirety of our stay. There were some good points to this resort like the beach, which was easily accessible and had plenty of room for sunbathing, lounging and swimming. This is not a place to snorkel, but rather swimming and body surfing as well as 'boogie bording.' The bars were great for 'hanging out', however, the alcohol was far from top shelf. We found ourselves asking the tenders for doubles and for the 'best alcohol they have in stock', otherwise the drinks tasted virgin. Our room was very nice. We spent the extra money to have the jacuzzi in our room as well as unlimited, 24 hour room service, however, at the other all-inclusive resorts the room service is included in the cost. Overall, my husband and I would not rate this hotel as anymore than three apples (if you choose to use the Apple Vacations Rating System). Apparently, this resort has been rated as 'excellent' by some reviewers, but if you have visited as many resorts as my husband and I, you would find yourself disappointed with the amount of money you pay for an 'okay' resort in which you probably would not go back to unless you are one to tolerate tasteless and almost unedible food as well as weak drinks. Isn't this a large part of why we all choose all-inclusive resorts in the first place? We will not go back to this resort, but will choose to return to another resort in the Cancun area. We were impressed with Secrets Capri, and if you have children, Sunscape in Rivera Maya. To each his own.

what I didn't like was that I could not stay longer because it was such a beautiful and breath taking experience. It is the best hotel I have ever been to.

After being bumped from the Gran Costa due to 150+ teens from Monterrey (Mexico's golden children), I was rebooked for 1 fantastic night at the soon to be renamed Golden Parnassus. This is a great place if you are an adult as it is adults only. This fact is great. No screaming children. The lobby is awesome, as there is a huge dolphin statue in the middle. It is a little dark but where have you ever seen a miniature golf course with statues of Elvis, Laurel and Hardy, Abbott & Costello etc in the lobby! There is a lobby bar, a disco and the pool bar stayed open Saturday night until 2AM. The staff is unbelievably friendly and they truly go out of their way to make this place both memorable and a great stay. They have 50% oceanfront rooms, while I stayed in a Bayfront unit it had its advantages as it was very quiet. Every room has a huge balcony/terrace. There is a great great beach with tons of shade and even a pet Gekko. There is no one single staff member to point out as they are all awesome. If you had the maki rolls over sashimi, the sushi bar is great. If you ate in the Steak House-I heard it was awesome. My conclusion after one night was that this is a great place that while not 5 star, certainly deserves strong consideration by Singles and Adult Couples who prefer value, fun and a great lifestyle over the Prada crowd next store at the fancy 5 star hotel. Were it not for the rooms, I would stay here again. I believe that if you want to truly enjoy a great week in Cancun, this is a great choice. My review of the Gran Costa Real will be provided at the end of my stay. So far so good (food is not as good as Golden Parnassus) and beach is tiny in comparison, but rooms are vastly superior..
