people were really friendly.service was great location was good nights out were just the best ever.it was a experence of a lifetime.and where you stay plays a great part in your holiday.I would go back for sure.its a place for everyone.no matter who goes there will have great fun.

WARM...that is the best description. Food was INCREDIBLE, the placing of the hotel...unBEATable. The view takes your breathe away of the ocean. The location in hotel central...priceless. Minutes from everything and just a hop on the FAMOUS bus system! Can't wait to go back!

We stayed here and as soon as we walked into the lobby from the airport, we thought, "hmmmm, this dosent look anything like the pictures on the internet". We thought we had been HAD. WEll, let me tell you, we had an absolutely WONDERFUL time. DO NOT let the old girl fool you. The service is excellent, the food was ALWAYS top shelf, prepared with us in mind. The staff was always helpful and very friendly. The atmosphere was so much fun, and it felt like a honeymoon. Yes, the place isnt brand new, but everything else makes up for that. YES, we are going back soon. The only downer i can say is, yes, the timeshare people do tend to get on your nerves a bit. I can not wait to go back!

well where do i start there is nothing to dislike about the occidental hotel in cancun mexico the location is great what ever your needs are they got what you are looking for a family holiday its ideal for kids for male or female group its brilliant and for couples its superb the sun sets are unreal the staff at the hotle are amazing they will help you anyway you can the entertament team are 1st class brilliant performers and very freindly the food is great the drinking is great its just a brilliant hotel ill be back next year and the year after

The food was terrible. I got sick with the same food everyday. The waiters were very nice but the food was terrible.

If you are a tourist who is going to cancun just for the whole getting away idea and not so dependant on a great hotel, then the Occidental Caribbean Village is the place to be. If this is your first time to Mexico, realize that taking the bus is the way to go as it is only 6 pesos ( 60 cents ) for your destination. DO NOT TAKE TAXIS as they are independant and will charge upwards of 20 dollars for a mile ride. I went into this experience expecting the food to be a little subpar but it was suprisingly above expectations. The drinks at all inclusive were rather generic in taste but they do have to serve about 400 people out of 600 from the hotel so i can't totally blame them. Don't let the employees by the dinner establishment wait on you as they will expect tips. Their are several shady measures about cancun, and one of them that stuck out like a sore thumb was the runaround that you recieved whenever asking a question of semi-importance. Be persistant when asking questions and make sure you dont get your money took by being reluctant to agressiveness, if that makes any sense. The internet connection is 2 dollars for 10 minutes and im sure much more if you exceed the 10 minutes. The great thing is that they dont have an official timer for the internet so in all honesty or lack thereof, you can lie for a few extra minutes.

The room we were in smelled like mold and our air did not work almost the entire time we were there. We had a crack in our window that let humidity in so it probably had to do with the escape of the cool air that you so desperately desire after a day at the beach. Everyone was very friendly, but we had to wait for our room when we arrived since it was not ready for us. The food was barely adequate and it seemed like we had the same thing every day. The drinks were watered down, so even drinking alcohol would not help. The pool was nice and they did have a little bar, but would you know that it was below our room so we had to hear it until wee hours of the morning. I don't know if they have made improvements, but if not, I would suggest spending a little more and staying somewhere else. I was so disappointed when I had to walk to through the Fiesta Americana Condesa for a parasailing excursion. I couldn't believe how beautiful it was in comparison to our hotel. It just shows that you get what you pay for. Great for student breakers or someone on a tight budget but not for someone like me.

The entertainment was fantastic from the fun club and all the staff are very friendly as always. We could not faulter any of the service.

The service was quite impressive. We were surprised to see how friendly the waiters were in the restaurants. The food was different and delicious everyday. Needless to say the staff was remarkable. Our room was very pleasant. Always came back to a clean room no matter what time we finally decided to get up, the maids were there to clean up afterwards. It was located in a central place within walking distance to the mall and bus stops. Very convienent!! As far as things to do while in Mexico, the hotel staff always had day trips planned out, of course for an additional charge, to different exotic locations. We were able to go snorling, swim with dolphins, and visit the great pyramids. The night life was awesome, the hotel provided transportion to and from. I couldn't ask for a better vacation!!! Nothing to dislike, food, drinks, water, service was all excellant. The best bang for the buck in Cancun. We had a greaat time.
