I have never had worse service in a hotel. I travel in the Carolina area often, and the outright disregard for customer service was unforgettable. Members of the food and beverage staff were among the rudest I have ever seen in the food service industry. All staff members that work at the “Blue” sports bar had slow service, very rude attitudes, poor follow-up, spent more time complaining to each other then tending to guests, insulted guest under their breath, had no understanding of the computer system and quoted people different prices for the same drinks. There was one gentlemen (Mr. Kenny) who argued with me and other guest, because we were not ordering enough, he wanted to go home and was outright rude towards many members in the bar.
There was one gentleman (Kevin, the Concierge/shuttle driver) who was very pleasant, helpful and the only positive experience my wife and I experienced at the Hilton Durham Near Duke University.
I will never return to Hilton Durham Near Duke University after this experience. The experience has given the Hilton name a very negative reference point, which will be part of all future decisions with regard to where I spend my vacation and money. It will be a long time before I ever spend my money at a Hilton Hotel or recommend a Hilton Hotel.
