La Tourelle Resort & Spa, Ithaca

Very expensive but comfotable, good food and great spa.

I stay at La Tourelle once a year at holiday time and thought it was time to write a review. La Tourelle is the most unique hotel you could ever stay in. Though it has a bizarre decor with a flair for the eclectic European/Asian/African influences it has an incredible cozy feel as soon as you walk into it's lobby. The office is hidden around the corner as you walk in the door and immediately someone comes out to greet you and get you checked in. The greeting staff has always been accomodating and very very friendly, but the best part of La Tourelle for me is it's rooms. The spa, yes is wonderful, but the beds at that hotel are out of this world. I don't know what they are or where they get them from but they are truly unbelivable. There are none like them in any of the other hotels I have stayed in. They're the best! Keep up the good work La Tourelle and I will see you on my next holiday visit.

I stayed here fri night 10/13 and had the worst expierence i've ever had at any hotel. The food at the steakhouse on site was disgusting, over priced and made my girlfriend sick. i paid 40$ for a filet that was half fat and had no taste. the room was very plain but the bed was nice.... Until i was woken up at 4:15am by the hotels fire alarm going off(it had already been going off 10 minutes before i realized it, while the hotel staff was no where to be found). The alarm went off for the better part of an hour while all the guests were forced to sit in the lobby which had limited seats or outside in the freezing cold with the 3 fire trucks. After an hour the firemen informed us it was an electrical fire in room 150 something and it had been contained. the hotel offered nothing for the inconvinece. horrible service how can they not wake up guests when theres a fire in the hotel?
