Colorado Belle Hotel and Casino, Laughlin

My wife and I have been going to the Colorado Belle and the Edgewater Casinos for years. Don't know what has happened but the two places have gone down hill fast. They have fired around 200 employees within the last month or two. They have combined the players clubs with the cashiers and now you have to wait in long lines. Cocktail servers are almost now where to be found. The Belle has closed down one of their esculators to the second floor to save money----Pathetic!! They have closed down the Mangia resturant upstairs. By the way PLEASE excuse my bad spelling. The slot machines are the tightest around. They even have stopped giving out incentives to visit them. The owners have not put a dime into any of the two properties and you can tell. My wife and I do not visit the two properties anymore and it's a shame, they used to be fun places to visit.

Never stayed there but the riverwalk is awesome. Breakfast was good also

I haven't been to the Colorado Belle in several years. We decided to go for a weekend and were shocked at how dumpy and run-down it's become since last visit. Some sections of the casino were shut down, the escalators weren't working, and our Boat Room was filthy and reeked of smoke. After speaking to two different employees, we were told in no unclear terms that the new owners have no interest in putting money back into the place like the previous owners. The employees we spoke too were both unhappy about the change but I assume jobs aren't easy to come by in Laughlin so I can understand why they put up with it. But I would never return to the Colorado Belle, nor would I advise anyone I know to stay there. Even the Riverside Resort, which is the oldest hotel in Laughlin, is much better now than Colorado Belle.

Several months ago we decided to stay in Laughlin for the Super Bowl weekend. We booked early based on an email that I received. Several days before our arrival, I received another email about the Big Event package for the Super Bowl. I could not change to the Event package which was a better value than my original reservation. When I arrived I tried again to change to the Event package but to no avail. The room was good for the amount of time spent in them however there was no blow dryer or iron in the room. Yes I could call housekeeping but for the money that I paid in other hotels the items (blow dryer and iron) are there.

We have stayed at Col. Belle for four nights twice in the last two years. First visited the Belle in 1997. Since my wife has a medical problem, we asked for and got adjoining rooms. the first year on the third floor. We had no problem locating our rooms with the help of friendly Bellhop, who did not wish to have us help with the luggage and was determined to do all the carrying and pushing by himself. The rooms were in sight of the swimming pool. The following year, 2010, We had identical rooms two floors below ( on the main) and the swimming pool just around the corner, which was just up my alley as I go to the casinos and pay my twnety dollar dues ane then spend time at the pool. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The Valets were great and the security around our vehicle was more than adequate. The Bellhop was especially good. Yes we found the hall carpets were worn and threadbare, but so what? We were not expecting a five star hotel and didn't expect to pay that price so we were satisfied with the accommodation. The cleaning staff were great, after we attempted to communicate with them in Spanish, and gave us the royal treatment. Everything was clean, the beds made, the bathrooms clean and tidy. If you wanted something extra all you had to do was ask. We found the restaurants and the meals excellent. I think that all the compaints are coming from people who are expecting too much, are arrogant, and too full of themselves. If you want a five star hotel and ten star service, PAY FOR IT AND SHUT UP, and leave the rooms for me. And as an aside, you attract more honey bees with suger water than vinegar. I suppose you can tell I am Canadian.

My family and I had a wonderful time at the Belle. For the rates this hotel is a steal. Though time has taken its toll on this casino I know that renovations are being done as I'm typing this review. The only disappointment is the Boiler room. It really needs to have the micro-brewery back. The staff is beyond friendly. Our front desk clerk, Georgette, was extremely friendly and made us feel like family. Her customer service is very enlightening. Thank you ColoradoBelle. We will be back very soon.

our room was only 17 and we upgraded to river view for forty more for balcony included with view. it is a nice view. we had a refridgertor. the room was nice with all amenities included. we were happy there. we always stay there. for people who complain, just stay somewhere where it is 5 star and pay the money for it. this hotel is more than worth the price. it is almost like they are paying us to stay there. we also got 2 free breakfast buffets.

We were very disappointed with the Belle. When we check in, the person gave us this ameba looking map of the hotel on a 2 by 5 inch piece of paper and drew lines to our room, not telling us that we were in the Bourbon Tower (which would of helped as we figured out later on our 2 night 3 day stay) 15 minutes later to our sucess we found our room. A non-smoking room we open the door to a puff of ugly smelling air freshner.(Which you would smell everytime you entered back into the room). No coffee maker or iron/ board, no blow dryer. Room service delivered the coffee and breakfast sweets for a fee on time. We ate at the Gallery Cafe, food came to us in a timely manner, but would not eat there again. We went for the 4th of July Fireworks and it was worth seeing, but there won't be a second trip at the Colorado Belle.

I've stayed at the Belle for years and had some good times. Always a bargain and the restaurants are good. Staying there over the Thanksgiving weekend will be the last time. First night only enough towers for one person. They do an incredible intrusive "room check" twice a day. Even though we had put out the Do Not Disturb sign they barged in on us. Second day came back to the room and toilet tissue had not been replaced though the roll was clearly low -- and no soap or glasses. Third day the bedspreads had been thrown over lumpy unstraightened sheets. The carpets, particularly in the hallways are filthy, wrinkled from getting wet too many times and they smell moldy. On the PLUS side, the restaurants are still good. Most recent visit was November 25 through 28, 2009.

If you are lucky enough to get in a boat room -- go for it. But if you are assigned to a Tower room (either New Orleans or Bourbon) don't waste your time & money. The rooms are bare. No coffee pots, no hair dryer, limited t.v. channels (not the same as the boat rooms) and no iron or ironing board. You just get a room. And they don't keep those rooms too clean either. The rugs had so many black stains and they don't vacuum every day. And there were even ants in the room. The bedspread needed to be mended. It was split on the inside. And the liner for the curtain needed to be re-hemed also. The towers aren't even connected to the casino and you have quite a walk to any food or restaurants. And the Paddle Wheel restaurant is extremely slow. Took over 30 mins. to get my breakfast after I ordered. Very disappointing. Esp., since I've stayed a couple of times but always in the boat rooms. No plans on ever staying in one of their tower rooms again.
