Room was cozy!

It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at Sweethoteldeals. Net They usually have some pretty good deals on there!

Why so Dirty?
By ,
Tropical moisture requires keep very clean not to grow mold or have insect infestations. The rooms smell bad even with the heavily perfumed deodorizers they use. They could probably save money if they got some staff that knew how to really clean or cared about what they were doing. Housekeeping at The Grand does not seem to understand this and I don't think they care. Maybe they live that way at home. This is an old building now, but it still looks beautiful and is well maintained in the common areas. But the hotel rooms and suites are ghastly. They don't seem to have the standards of cleanliness of the rest of the USA in 2008-9. It is really a shame.

Planning to do it all again!
By ,
This hotel makes my top ten list...easy! Wonderful ammenities, professional and non-evasive staff, beautiful & spacious rooms and much more. If you have the extra funds, upgrade to a jr. suite. It's so worth it! I actually had a partial view of the Bay, but it was still beautiful and I loved every bit of it! I had my heart set on staying in South Beach, but I had a budget and really couldn't take the risk of staying in a jacked up hotel in my efforts of saving a few bucks and being on the beach. I'm so happy I choose the Doubletree...you just can't go wrong! It took me less than 10 minutes to get to South Beach and less than 5 to get to Downtown clubs and restuarants. Now for the drawbacks- the daily valet fee is expensive. Be prepared for this because there is no airport shuttle and you'll probably need a car to get to South Beach. No free continental breakfast...but if you need a good cheap breakfast, there's a Denny's about 5 minutes away...shhh. lol The bar downstairs was really cool...get the mojito! In a nutshell, I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone. If you're a little leary of some of the hotels on the beach, stay here and soak up the essence of Miami. I felt like I was staying in a condo, versus a hotel. I can't wait to visit again!

Wonderful Stay!
By ,
My stay was great! The room was very spacious and the view of the Bay was gorgeous. When we asked for extra towels, there was no problem. The lobby was always kept clean. The pool and sauna were very nice as well. The staff in the restaraunts and stores were very helpful and nice. I took the free city rail system that was a block from the hotel. I also took the city bus that was in the same location (very inexpensive way to travel). The only concern I had was the front desk seemed to be a little more interested in serving the residents vs. the guests, but that wasn't too bad either. I would recommend staying here and would do so myself again if given the opportunity!!!

I will never go back
By ,
Hotel stuff are not very friendly. I have never had so many complaints in one stay as in this hotel. First, they put me in a smoking floor, it smelled so bad then my room had a bad water leak (broken pipe) and they decided to keep me in the same room while they fix it knowing I had only that morning to get some sleep. The valet parking stuff are rude and not friendly at all. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS HOTEL.

Pre Cruise Nightmare
By ,
We were booked at the hotel through the cruise line - you would think they would know better. I don't know quite where to begin with how bad this hotel experience was. Should we begin with the ants on the ceiling? Or how about the fact that the room had virtually no light? Or the fact that the rooms were not available well after check in time - for just about everyone checking in - even those people who came at 10pm? What about the bellmen that couldn't find out luggage - or the ones that didn't want to carry it up to our rooms? Or the "sticky stuff" on the bathroom floor? Perhaps worst of all was the rudeness of the front desk staff - their lies, smirks and nastiness was just unbelievable. The manager tried, and gave us a free breakfast to make up for it - but I would never stay there if I had a choice.

What an experience!
By ,
My family and I stayed at the Doubletree, pre-cruise in August 2007. Our group consisted of 22 people, from ages 3-81. What a fantastic experience! Our accomodations ranged from a: 1 bedroom condo, 2 bedroom condo and your standard room. The rooms and condo's were great! We truly started our vacation before we even boarded the ship. Important Factors that were met: cleaniness, affordability, convience and most of all amenities. The warm cookie upon check-in was a wonderful added touch. Individuals within our party stated they would definitely stay at the Doubletree Grande Miami again. My family and I will be cruising again in 2008 and yes, we will be staying here again! The only added feature I would recommend: Airport shuttle would make the package complete!

Great location
By ,
It was just what we were looking for. Very close to the port of miami. so the taxi ride from our cruise was short. Nice rooms, very large. Awsome pool overlooking the harbor.

VERY PLEASED!!
By ,
We were very pleased with the Doubletree & what it had to offer. The hotel was comfortable & clean. It was close to the activities we participated in. The service was excellant. The restaurant & market were wonderful. It truly was a home away from home.
