This is NOT what I saw on the website!
Our experience was not a positive one. Let me go ahead and say that we stayed here during the off season and they might have still been cleaning up from Katrina... not sure.
When we pulled up, the first thing we noticed were the bottles littering the parking area. In the walk ways between the buildings, there was trash and cigarette butts all over the place. The desk clerks were not very friendly. The beds were so uncomfortable that my husband couldn't sleep on them because they hurt his back. They were very "soft and bouncy" as my kids called them. The closet only had one door when it clearly needed two, the window screen was bent from someone going in or out through the window, and the room just basically looked old and worn.
Now, in their defense, let me say that they did have many rolls of carpet in the lobby and many workmen wandering around, so maybe they were in the process of cleaning the place up for the tourist/vacation season... not sure. AND the continental breakfast was very nice. The lady that worked the breakfast area was freindly and even funny. She was the high point of our stay there.
I guess it's better to stay there in the summer than any time during the off season... I guess?
