Tranquil surrounding; Friendly staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/20/11
We had a very unpleasant start to our vacation last year, as a traffic accident on the highway made us arrived late at Dulles International and miss our flight. Virgin Atlantic was sympathetic enough to books us on another flight the next day and gives us a stay at the Hyatt. We loved the hotel; the atmosphere, friendliness of the staff, rooms and the food. The way this hotel is situated, it takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the area, and puts you in a very tranquil surrounding. This stay definitely calmed our nerves down. Besides, we got to park our vehicle for a very reasonable price during our vacation. The Azeez Family

Can't wait to go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/31/11
I loved the atomsphere of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. When I first walked into my room it had a smell (possibly from eating food in the room). I frebreezed it but it did not help and opted for another room which was given to me with ease. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are clean with marble furnishings. Not much to choose from in the cable tv category but the big tv that turns right and left so that you can watch it anywhere in the room is a plus. They have spalike bathing items in the bathroom and it is so spacious. Please visit happy hour! If you are on a budget and want small quick bites, this is the way to go. You can get small plates during this time for six dollars and it is well worth it. I had wings (10), three sea scallops (large), and a fruit tray for $18.00. It was so good I did it the next night and added the crab dip, which was ok but not as good as the other three items. I took advantage of their breakfast buffet that offers various healthy options like egg white omelets and oatmeal. The buffet is 19.00 but I was a member of AAA so mine was free! I would definitely stay there again!

NOT EXACTLY WHAT IT SEEMS........
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/23/09
i liked the location and the environment. the loby, the mini garden is absolutely gorgeous. however, the rooms are smaller than they look on the website photos, they still have the old school box like television, there were no cable internet services, customers had to pay $10 a day for wireless internet services.

Highly Impressed
By NoFrillsSleeper, 9/15/08
I stayed overnight and left my car parked at the hotel while I went on vacation. It worked out great! The hotel staff was very courteous and the room was amazing. I recently stayed at a podunk motel near Luray Caverns with threadbare towels for just about the same price, and the Hyatt is far far superior. The room was extremely luxurious, and the bed was supremely comfortable. The shuttle to the airport took only a few minutes. I look forward to staying there again.

Great rooms but expensive extras
By Corvallis Resident, 1/19/08
Very nice rooms and very quiet even though it is quite close to Dulles. However, all of the extras are very expensive. For example, if you request a taxi, you get a towne car instead. The fare to reach the metro was $55, whereas a cab would only run $35. Located in an office park, so no choice of restaurants. The in-hotel restaurant charges $3 for a tasteless cup of coffee and $20 for the breakfast buffet. They permit smoking in the lobby/atrium which I found astonishing in this day and age. Smokers will rejoice, but the rest of us will probably want to stay elsewhere.

Where's the Stuff?
By Lynne, 10/10/07
Hotel room (mini suite) did NOT look like the rooms on the website. It had a small sitting area, no flat screen TV and a terrible fit and finish. I don't know if this part of the hotel hadn't been renovated, but everything - from the exposed cables to the gouged bathroom sliding door - seemed shoddy. Also - my traveling partner booked a double bed smoking suite. After the hotel tried to check us into the wrong room, we were informed the hotel only had THREE smoking rooms, and they aren't doubles. So in essence the website booked us into a non-existant room. No apologies from anyone, even after we waiting an hour for the room to be cleaned and we still ended up with a non-smoking room. No fridge or microwave in the rooms either - even Holiday Inn has those. While the beds were okay, the Sleep Inn I stayed at two nights later was much more comfortable, cheaper and lived up to its price.

They made our trip exceptional !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/4/07
We enjoyed our visit this past weekend.(Labor Day) We were there from Thursday to Monday for the Nachman/McDaniel wedding. The staff was wonderful. The service and personal care were extra special. Everyone from the front desk to the cleaning service was extremely friendly and helpful. There were many special events going on at the same time and everyone got the same care. Everyone in our party had a great time. The wedding reception was lovely and someone from the hotel staff was always available for any needs.

A Night in the City
By paula, 6/10/06
It was rather late when we arrived due to weather delays. The hotel was warm, lit up and inviting. Parking was accesssible and the staff friendly. Our room had a wonderful view, unlike anything we were used to. Made us feel we were living in the "big city". Nice sitting area, plenty of room. Large bath and dressing area and most of all a wonderfully comfortable bed and a decent pillow. Overall we were pleased with the accomodations and the friendly atmosphere

The Hyatt is Beautiful
By Ashley, 1/26/06
They just finished a fabulous renovation on the hotel and it is really beautiful. The people are nice as are the rooms. It's a little pricey, but its worth the money. Excellent location for conventions or meetings.

Great Business stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/8/04
If you are doing business in the Dulles/Herndon area, this hotel is a great place to stay. Not the cheapest in the world as they hit you for $10/day for Internet and all calls are toll, so take your cell phone. The beds are good and the rooms are spacious. Mine had a small living room area. It wasn't the newest Hotel, but they were doing renovations at the time. I tend to like 5 star hotels with concierge service, so as a business traveler I tend to be picky. This place covered all the bases, and I had no problems with the room or the charges. One thing to note: the staff was of 5-star quality. They provided maps and help on where to go for food and how to get around. If you need to be in the Herndon area, this is a good choice and you won't regret it. If you like really new hotels, you might want to wait until they finish the renovations. One last thing: This hotel is RIGHT by the Dulles airport. I could see if from my 14th floor window. However, you could not hear any of the planes coming or going. The worst thing about my stay was the awful stench of the jet fuel burning when I came out in the morning and came back in the evening. The exhaust smell was just overwhelming, but did not exist inside the hotel. Hope this helps somebody decide. All in all, great stay and I would stay there again...just might bring nose plugs for the trip to and from the car :-)
