Better service at a Motel 6

The staff is very rude!!! My Father is a member and has been for a very long time. I live out of state and when I came to the club, the front gate had the nerve to tell me "this is member only" (12/20/07, 4:30pm.) My Father was inside waiting for me!! What a joke!!! My Father keeps his membership because of his friends he has made there over the years but that is the only reason. The club is very OUT DATED and OVER PRICED!!! The service forgot their place at the club, it is to serve! There are many other places, that are a lot better if your just looking at coming to La Jolla / San Diego for vacation.

Our Family Tradition

My grandpa is a member so I have been going to the Club since I was in diapers. Now that I live in Utah I really wanted my kids to have "the beach" experience. This is perfect for families b/c its private (for the most part) and you get to go home clean. The kids jump back and forth from the ocean and the pool. I love this place and Im so spoiled I don't like any other beaches.

Amazing location, overpriced rooms

Tons of activities- beach, tennis, short 9 hole golf course, croquet, but the guest rooms are VERY overpriced. The furniture is just jammed into irregularly shaped rooms. We had to climb over the bed to get into the bathroom. No A/C. The beachfront rooms were much nicer looking on the inside, but were even more overpriced. Service was great. Beach was beautiful. Wifi was nice, but bring your own ethernet cable if you aren't wireless. You are paying for the location and not the amenities.

Wonderful year after year

My family and I have been coming to La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club for years and we absolutely love it. The most fantastic part of it is that it is literally four steps away from the Pacific Ocean. It has such a warm feel to it and is so relaxing. It is also minutes away from a beautiful golf course and downtown. Some people who are high maintanance do not like the club because it is a little old-fashioned. The rooms could stand to be remodeled and yes the stairs have some paint that is peeling. It is rather expensive for the room, but the point is that you can sleep with the ocean in your ear. This place is not for those who demand spa like, upscale hotels, but is for those who understand what it means to feel relaxed and calm all day long, and appreciate the simple beauty of the ocean time and time again.

Wet!

We were flooded from the bathroom....it stank! OK they fixed it quick, but do you need this on vacation?

They said we could have a BBQ on the beach free, but no-one helped us. The garbage was collected from outside the bedroom window real early every day.

Service was non-existent
