Ocean Palms Beach Resort, Carlsbad

Even though I live only about 45 minutes away, this is such a nice place to bring my entire family to. We have not stayed here for several years, and they remodeled the rooms very nicely. Our bathroom and small kitchen were very clean, and had great features. Out of everything though, we LOVE the location! We stay for a week and always have plenty to do.

The management showed us one room for a certain price. When we rented the room it was completely different than the room they gave us. They said they were completelly booked and refused to switch us. We found a cheaper price on line than the price we were paying but the management refused to give us the cheaper on line price. The walls were very thin & we could hear the T.V. from the renter next door. The resort has an electronic key system to enter the gates & rooms. Evey time someone would leave thru the rear gates you could hear it slam because they were so close to the rooms & the walls were thin. When we had maid service (every other day) they didn't even make up the bed. they only left us a few clean towels. All in all a very very bad experience. Dispite it's good location find another hotel. Be warned!!!

This is an absolutely horrible hotel. The pictures on the website are not an accurate representation of the hotel. The room I was in had a pump soap dispenser in the shower and the toilet paper was in a locked dispenser (soap and toilet paper dispensers similar to those in a public restroom in an airport). I travel weekly for work and I have stayed in a lot of hotels in a lot of locations. This is the worst one I have ever come across. Moreover, they have a no refund policy. So once you get to the hotel and find out that it is not as advertised, it is too late. Save yourself a lot of trouble and do not book this hotel.

My husband and I stayed here in a great little studio. We were very pleased with the room and can't wait to come back for a longer time

The location is great and then entire grounds were immaculate. My room was recently remodeled and upgraded. The shower was fantastic. Being dog friendly is a big plus for me and my family as well. I booked the room online and prepaid. When we arrived, I noticed a sign with a lower rate, and the management made it up to me by upgrading our room to a suite. This was a great place for my family and I to visit!

The room was clean and internet access was easy. The staff was very accommodating, they helped me turn on the fireplace when the weather unexpectedly declined. I will definitely stay again if I am in the area.

We discovered your resort quite by accident last summer and ended up extending our stay in Carlsbad because we loved the resort and the town so much. Then we came back for a few days in March. We live in Canada. Although we had a less expensive room than others, it was comfortable and we enjoyed the grounds. The staff were also friendly.

I had an excellent stay at this place! I was excited to be upgraded to a deluxe 2 bedroom from the standard 2 bedroom, and loved the upgraded features. I enjoyed every second of my Mother's day weekend! The room was clean, the pool was warm and clean and the sun was out! I always love my stays here.

There was nothing we liked about this "resort". We based on stay on their webpage. The resort is nothing like it's pictured. It's basically an old motel. Our room was dark and smelly, the carpets were stained and the floor dirty. The furniture had not been dusted in awhile. The remote to the tiny TV was held together with duct tape. The "fully-equipped" kitchen was marginal at best. I can see why they require paymentn in advance and do not give refunds. This is a terrible place.

It is a lovely place in a great location and I hope to go back many times!!
