Holiday Inn Express, Los Angeles

For the price, I was expecting way better service. It wasn't that the employees were incompetent -- they just weren't very nice. A smile can go a long way with customers, but these employees were very non-hospitable -- almost to the point of being robotic. I paid $150 for one night at this place. I've paid half that in much nicer, upscale hotels -- and received ten times better service. Also, keep in mind this hotel is on Olympic Boulevard -- a very busy street. If you can't sleep with the noise of traffic speeding by at all hours of the day/night, this isn't the place for you. On the plus side, the hotel is very clean, and the rooms are a nice size. Also, it's a short cab ride away from many sights (Santa Monica, Venice, Hollywood, etc).

I like the fact that the staff was very friendly and professional. The rooms are clean and refreshing. I particularly liked the rooms with lofts. From now on this will be my first choice.

I don't know where this other reviewer stayed but I loved my stay at the Holiday Inn Exp Century City. The staff was concerned with our having anything we needed. The two women at the front desk were helpful and knowledgable about the surrounding attractions like Fox studios and Beverly Hills, the whirlpool was a welcome respite after sightseeing. The attractions in the vicinity were a bit limited but having Ralph's across the street and a modest fridge allowed us to buy tv dinners, fruit and soft drinks. I really cannot praise the staff any higher. I was even allowed to check in almost three hours before check in time!
