Unforgettable Hong Kong
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/10/07
Making Reservations: I made reservations for this hotel through their webpage. It was easy and convenient. Additionally, I couldn't find a lower price anywhere on the internet. The only thing that worried me initially was that I never received an initial email confirmation other than the confirmation screen. I recommend printing up the confirmation screen if you are able. I called the hotel and they sent me the confirmation. Transportation: Limousine service from the airport was nice however, there are two exit points from customs. In our case, they were waiting at the other exit point and since this was my first time to Hong Kong, I did not know where to find the shuttle kiosk without calling. However, if you are looking for Mercedes transport to and from the airport, the kiosk is located just outside the customs exit for B. All of the hotel kiosks are directly in front of you when you walk out. The Mercedes going from the airport to the hotel was a bit dirty inside. I will say however that the return trip was much nicer. If you are unable to speak Cantonese or Mandarin, the driver spoke English as well. Special Arrangements: This trip was a surprise for my wife to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary. I wanted to make it very special. I asked the hotel if there was something they could do to help start our trip off right 12 hours prior to our arrival time, and they did not disappoint - on short notice they were able to have a bottle of champagne waiting in the room with a tray of strawberries decorated in white and dark chocolate tuxedoes. They also included a nice card wishing us a Happy 10th Anniversary. I had originally requested flowers, but they did not have time to do this because they needed at least 24 hours in advance to ensure delivery prior to check-in. Nonetheless, the latter went over quite well. The Hotel: We stayed on one of the non-smoking club floors. Check in for the club floors was on the 11th floor. The concierge was very good and discreetly let me know everything was in order prior to going to our room. The room itself was very lavish. It had internet service, hardwood throughout, a nice size flat screen TV and a sitting area near a large floor to ceiling window. There was a king size bed as well. There was no view to speak of since this hotel is dwarfed on all sides by large buildings. Additionally, the shower temperature setting was a bit tempermental, but overall, it was very nice. The location could not be any better if you love to shop. You are within 5 minutes of walk of the subway, Star Ferry pier, Hard Rock cafe, a large shopping plaza with all of the top boutiques, Nathan Road, etc... If you like to stay at the hotel, they have a nice rooftop swimming pool and fitness center with all the amenities expected of any 5 star hotel. Additionally, they have several nice restaurants and a wonderful breakfast buffet.

it was a dilema experience for me
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/10/06
i like the location of this hotel, very convenient. However everything is so expensive, i stayed at a rate of $305 per night!!! the resturants were expensive to eat in, and the service wasn't that good afterall.i checked in early and they wouldn't spare me a room, i had to wait 15 minutes. the room is not very big, not like what we can see on the internet.it was not worth the price it states.hope my comment helps you.

Very Nice
By meiyee, 9/4/06
This is my first stay at Langham Hotel Hong Kong. The Langham Suite is spacious with plasma TV & Hi Fi system. I like the big bathroom very much. Their staff are friendly, no matter from reception, concierge and bell boy, they are all very helpful for our requests. Location is really good for shopping, it is very close to Harbour City shopping plaza, Gucci, Prada etc. and only a 5 min walk from ferry and subway station. Originally I had made a booking at other fine dining restaurant which my friend recommended before arrival, however I got a bad impression when I called for reservation (very rude attitude which made me think he didn’t want my business). So I end up at the hotel’s Chinese restaurant Tang Court for dinner. Out of my expectation, the food is really good and yummy. And the environment is comfortable; it’s different from other Chinese restaurants which are very noisy. Staff were very attentive, but not pushy. Very nice. Must stay in Langham Hotel again.

one of the best hotel in TST, Kowloon.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/4/05
The Langham is the best-located hotel in TST, Kowloon. The MTR and Star Ferry is just a short walk away. You’re surrounded by lots of good restaurants, shops ranging from top designers to local electrical shops, where you can still find a few bargains. As for the hotel, I love the cosy feel and décor, it’s quite European and although it’s not as grand as the peninsula, I personally prefer the langham because it feels more homely. I have only stayed on the club floor suite, where service is always excellent. The only down side to this hotel is that it doesn’t have a harbour view, but then if it did, I think the room would cost a lot more. Still I think it’s great value if you compare to the other hotels in the area.
