Sandals Grande Riviera Beach Resort, Ocho Rios

My husband and I visited this resort while it was still a Beaches facility. I did not enjoy it nearly as much as the Sandals Montego Bay. If you stay in the rooms in the mountains, expect long walks everywhere. When I go to the ocean, I just want to be as near to the beach as I can so I did not enjoy the location. The service was not very good. We did have to change rooms the first day. The first room we had smelled very smokey and moldy. They did give us a new room, however we had to move all of our luggage ourselves. I expected a resort of this calibur to do it for us. We went for 7 days, so the 2 hour bus ride from the airport was not a big deal - just grab some Red Stripe for the ride! I would not go to this particular resort again.

I was really impressed with Sandals Grande Ocho. You don't want to stay by the beach though. It use to be an old Beaches Resort and the it isn't as glamorous as the main area. We stayed in the St Anne Mountains and we had our private pool. Good wasn't bad and the service was great. Made friends and had great fun. Very clean too. I would come back here!! I would also try the Dunn's River location. I heard these are the best two locations in Jamaica!

I liked that it was very quite, right on the water and there were small sporting things to do, no extra charge, like snorkeling. The food was good..looking for a little more variety, but we never left the resort..the weather was great the whole time, a little humid but nice and breezy during the day! the conceirge was wonderful! We had everything we needed at all times. A friend actually went 6 months later for his honeymoon and loved it also!

We went to Jamaica as a 20th wedding anniversary celebration, while also going with friends who were to be married in Jamaica. What a wonderful experience. I loved it and cannot wait to go back. The wait staff was so friendly and they pampered you to your hearts content. The food was excellent. With different restaurants to choose from you could sample many different dishes.

a three star property at at 5 star price. Two sides to this resort. the beach side is a good location but the rooms are days inn type the hill side rooms are much nicer but you take a shuttle to get to the beach. It's a weding factory once removed from spring break. food average. long waits for the somewhat nicer retuarants. other places to go whith better value in the carib. beach is average.

great place for romance, not a party place though they do have some planned activities. Food in the resturants is great, there is also a buffet everyday. The drinks were great!
