Delta Edmonton Centre Suites, Edmonton

My wife and I decided to spend a night downtown away from the kids for Valentine’s Day. Our actual date of stay was Saturday, Feb 14th. We chose the Delta Edmonton Centre Suite Hotel as it’s conveniently located in the City Centre Mall (nice to walk around and shop without going in the cold outside) and because the service is usually very good. We arrived at the hotel around 3 pm. The hotel was doing some renovations at the front entrance which was fine, knowing the hotel we parked the car ourselves in the parkade and made our way to the front desk. The front desk agent was very friendly and professional. Everything about our reservation was in order and she answered my questions knowledgeably. We made our way to the room, we reserved a 1 bedroom suite (a bedroom with a separate living room) and the room was HUGE! It was very clean with nice amenities. We wished we had one of the rooms that faced inside the mall but we got one that faced outside with a view of downtown. Since we liked the size of the room we chose not to switch. After spending some time walking around the mall and trying our luck at the casino a block away, we decided to go for dinner in the hotel’s restaurant, Cocoa’s. We were promptly greeted by the hostess and chose to get a booth. Our hostess warned us that the kitchen was busy (being Valentine’s weekend) and we were fine with that. The restaurant is on the 3rd floor and you can walk out to the mall as well but the ambience where we were sitting was very nice, you couldn’t really hear the people going to the movie theatres. Our server was also very friendly and professional. The restaurant had a special Valentine’s Day menu, four courses I believe with options for all but we chose to order a-la-carte. Being the land of Alberta Beef we both had steak dinners, my wife had a strip loin and I had a peppercorn sirloin (the menu said it won a gold medal at some competition and I can see why!) both were prepared as we asked. The food was very tasty with good presentation. We then spilt a bread pudding (yummy) and in total we were there almost 2 hours but time really flew by. My wife and I don’t often get the opportunity to spend that kind of time on dinner so we took advantage of it. After dinner we retired to our room and had a quiet night. One of the advantages of the 1 bedroom suites is the bedroom is furthest away from the door that enters the room and since you can close the door between the bedroom and living room you don’t hear the sound from the hallway during the night. In the morning the shower was good, it had one of those shower heads where you can choose different settings, and the water was hot and pressure good. We used the automated check-out on the TV (a real time saver) when we left. Overall it was a fantastic and romantic stay.

To begin with I had booked a one bedroom suites but for some reason I was given a regular room. When I called up the front desk, only then they realized the mistake and offered to change the room. Next day when I came back to room at about 5 PM, the bed was made up but the ironing table was left as it is. The only hotel where I saw the coffee maker in the washroom... and the coffee machine was not cleaned and still carried the tea bag from morning. They never replaced the bathroom amenities. The menu card in the room was old and some of the items were discontinued long ago ( as told by the room service). Cant believe it is part of Delta hotel chain. Will never come back again. Wish I could give them 0 for service and cleanliness.

where can i start? everything about this place is excellent. the serviced, staff, the rooms, cleaniness,location, room service everything is just perfect. only one thing was missing a swimming pool but bisides that everything about hotel was just geat.i will definetly stay here again and also recommend to others.

Upon check-in the front desk staff was professional and accomodating, making sure our two rooms were close together on the same floor. We had wanted rooms facing the outside because of other reviews we had read but we ended facing the mall and loved it. The rooms are indeed suites, with two separate areas and lots of space. The king size pillow top was heavenly and we slept solid. It was quiet all night, didn't hear a thing. The room service was exceptional with the staff so eager to please. The hotel is in a great location close to many restaurants and easy to find. We parked in the parkade expecting to pay $16/day and ended up paying only $5, maybe because it was a long weekend. Overall, everyone was very professional and polite, made it a great stay, however brief it was. Will definitely come back next time we are in town.

Although a convenient location, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The refrigerator in our suite didn't work. The remote for the TV didn't work. After two phone calls to the front desk, a new refrigerator was obtained, however the replacement remote still didn't work. The hotel fitness center was very messy. There were no clean towels or water as is advertised. Plus, it is clearly displayed on the phone in the room that local calls are FREE. Be careful as you will be charged $1.48 for each local call.

Dislike: The bedrooms are not that pretty and not as bright and colorful as the restaurants. You might also want to improve the cleanliness of the hotel, and the sevice of the staff members. Thank you
