The Omni Newport News Hotel is located in the heart of the business district, 30 minutes from Norfolk.This property features 183 guest rooms with iron and ironing board, coffee maker, hair dryer, dual-line speaker phone, state-of-the-art voice messaging system, 25-inch color TV, infrared keyboards for Web browsing on the TV, high-speed Internet access, direct in-room dialing with private phone number, video check-out and comment card, and LodgeNet system featuring on-demand hit movies and Nintendo 64 video games. Dining at the hotel features Mitty's Ristorante, Italian cuisine featuring fresh local seafood, and Mitty's Nightclub featuring live music, happy hour specials and wood-burning pizza oven. A Champagne Sunday Brunch is served from 10am to 2pm.Guest room dining is also available (6:30 a.m. - 12:00 a.m.).The hotels has a fully-equipped fitness center, complete with Universal weights, Life cycles, treadmills, whirlpool, sauna, shower and locker rooms.A Get Fit Kit is also available at front desk, allowing guests to work out in the privacy of their own room. It contains a floor mat, two dumbbells and elastic bands. There is also an indoor heated swimming pool on site and tennis courts, beaches and golf courses nearby.Hotel services include the Omni Kids Program, business center, laundry facilities on property as well as valet laundry services, and complimentary outdoor parking. The hotel is not worth staying at. The rooms don't get cleaned very well. I had something stolen out of my room, my digital camera and the hotel did nothing and also a friend found a maid going through her personal pictures. The work out room is ok. They always have some kind of function going on during the weekend so there are usually lots of kids running around.

Wedding Night for son & bride

Booked room for son & new bride's wedding night as a gift. Requested early check-in and late check-out. Staff was very gracious & professional. The staff knew the circumstances and gave them an upgrade w/o requesting it. Very pleased with the room and all services. Excellent employees!!

we wont be going back

i looked for two weeks to find a luxury and exciting getaway for my husband and i. i was told the price of a romantic night for two was $99 a night so i thought if i could get a better deal in the parlar room. with fireplace oh by the way which didnt work and couldnt be fixed . two light bulbs blown out . and ceramic tile broke in front of fireplace. in bathroom leak in hand held sprayer. room service was good but food was not.this trip cost me $562.00 for two nights and $58.00 for room service. i really didnt mind paying for the room and extras but i just wanted all to work and be kept up. im sorry i feel this way . the jacuzzi was suppose to be open until 1200pm closed for cleaning at 900 pm sat 3/1/08 if i wanted just a room i would have booked it but i didnt get what i paid for . oh and by the way my bed was not changed before i got there. hair in bed sheets. this could have been the best place if it was just kept up. not like u arnt making money on the rooms.

Wonderful place to stay

Hotel is sophisticated. Rooms were very nice and clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Only downfall was that the view from our room was the roof of the hotel. Pipes and vents, etc. But overall I would recommend it to everyone. One of the best in Newport News. Look forward to going back.

Excellent Hotel

The Omni is one of the best hotels in the area. It is convenient to the interstate highway. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms are very clean and nice, and the food in Mittys resturaunt is very good. I would recommend this hotel to any travelers in the Newport News Va. area.

Highly recommend this hotel

I've stayed at this hotel for a long weekend in January for the past four years. It's a great place, nice rooms, clean etc etc. The hotel must attract business travelers as the hotel is pretty much empty on the weekends.

Best of the best

My fiancee and I stayed here for Valentine's Day and had a wonderful time. The restaurant is great! Very romantic. The employees are all very friendly and helpful. We like it so much, we're staying at the Omni on our honeymoon!

Not what you want for a wedding reception

attended a reception at the NN Omni recently. definitely not what you would want. there were three receptions going on simultaneously and all had to use a common anteroom area where 3 seperate hors d'vours tables were set up nearly adjacent to one another but guests were told that they must use the one set up for their reception - with no way of identifying which was which. in fact, we set our gift on the wrong reception table b/c we weren't aware of the multiple receptions when we arrived, then we had to explain why we were taking a gift from the table. then two buffet lines replaced the finger food and again it was keep to your line. food was fair.

Omni Newport News Hotel

Hired this hotel for a wedding reception - sight unseen. The food, service, banquet facilities, and rooms far exceeded what I expected. I would highly recommend this hotel for a large event, or a personal stay. The service was incredible!!!!
