Dirty and Dangerous
By ,
My stay lasted less than an hour. I checked in at 1AM early Sept. 2011. The room smelled like a gym bag that had been left in the trunk for a week. The sheets had a few stains; the bathroom grout was more black then white. Here is the kicker! The temp was due to drop the night of my stay, so I turned on the heater to warm the room a little. The fire alarm went off after the thing was on for 20 seconds or so. It smelt like a burning hair dryer. I had to open the door and fan the room to get it to go off. To my surprise no one came to check on the alarm as I was repacking my bags. When I went to the main desk to demand a refund so I could find another hotel; I was surprised to find out that the desk never received an alarm. The clerk said I didn’t hear an alarm as he pointed to their master alarm station. “if an alarm goes off we get a loud alarm at the desk.” Thank God there wasn’t a real fire! Hands down the worst hotel I have ever been in.

Hotel okay, staff bad..
By ,
We stayed for 6 days. I can't complain about the breakfast, it was good and the rooms were not the best but, they were usable. I CAN complain about the staff. We had an event in Asheville and had reservations for Monday through Saturday. It was over a 11 hour drive for us but, we decided to drive the whole way instead of stopping on the way so, we arrived late night Sunday (early Monday morning actually). We explained to the night clerk that we had reservations for the next day but had decided to drive through. We asked if there were any rooms avaliable and there were. We asked if we could get it at the rate we had for our other nights and the clerk said we could. Well, the next mornig a few others arrived for our event and when they saw us, asked what we had done the night before with puzzeled looks on their faces. We found out the the hotel manager (Chris) had told them that we came in that night and THREATENED the night clerk. My wife was absolutly beside herself. Talking to the manager, he seemed to blame it on the night clerk who was an extreamely nice young man. The manager made it sound like the young man was in trouble so my wife and I offered to pay full price for the previous night which the manager seemed all to happy to accept. After talking with the manager, we determined that it was there way of getting the full price out of us for the extra night. This even though we had reservations for 6 more nights! Well, during our stay, we and many others had to go to the front desk for toliet paper and clean towels several times and experience several other issues that I wil spare you from. After our stay, I wrote an email to the corp office who basiclly forwarded it to the manager. He claimed we didnt get clean towels or toliet paper because we had the do not disturb sign on our door every day. Funny, how could we have had our beds made every day by the staff if we had the sign out?? He then claimed that others people who came for our event said they had no problems. I had to laugh at that response because everyone we talked to had a complaint. After that response, I just shook my head and laughed. I didn't respond because I realized it was a complete waste of time dealing with the hotel management and the corp office. On the flip side, I will say their breakfast was really good and the location is also good but, thats about it. From what I have read of the other reviews, you have a 50/50 shot at having a decent stay...well... of maybe 60/40. I would highly recommend staying somewhere else.

Dishonest
By ,
I did not visit this location but made a reservation and Cancelled the next day. My credit card was billed a cancellation fee almost a month later. (They never sent me a reservation confirmation or cancellation confirmation through my email.) Manager kept giving me the run around and finally said employee whom I cancelled reservation with was off that day, which was not true. Manager finally referred the issue to Days Inn Headquarters who called me two days later and told me there was nothing they could do and referred me back to this hotel. This issue was recently resolved. I did get my money back, no thanks to this hotel. Guests Beware

Disgusting rooms/Service
By ,
This hotel is just a step up from a flea bag hotel. The management could not be more rude and disgusting as well. If you are traveling on business and have need for internet access FORGET IT. This place is the absolute worst place you could possibly stay. I am lodging a complaint with Days Inn corporate over the rude treatement I recieved from these morons. There are plenty more hotels in the area and even right accross the street. They brag about the breakfast which is marginal at best. Don't be fooled and don't waste your money.

Great Breakfast!
By ,
The staff at this particular hotel was extremely nice, helpful and accommodating. There was nothing we asked of them that they did not respond to promptly and professionally. The room, though very clean, had a very small bathroom and tub (my husband is 6'6") and this was a bit challenging for him. Also, the beds (we booked the two double beds room) for me were not very comfortable - very springy. But the breakfast was great and included everything - eggs, pancakes, bacon, fruit, etc! We only stayed one night and the price was right. For a longer stay, I would spend a little more money and stay in a nicer room.

I was told the room rate was $89, and wasn't given a receipt when I used my credit card. I was charged $133 for the room. Called to complain and was put on hold.

Forget early check-in!
By ,
My parents and I stayed here during our vacation which was in the middle of a week for 3 days and 2 nights. I called twice in advance to check on rates and availability, and I asked about checking in early without paying extra. Both employees to whom I spoke with told me we could check-in early provided a room was available and clean. I did not make a reservation since "plenty of rooms are usually available this time of year". We had driven 4 hours and arrived around noon. I asked one of the assistant managers if we could check-in early and he said he would have to find out if the cleaning staff had arrived and if they had cleaned our room. He's an assistant manager and he didn't know if the cleaning staff had arrived?!!! I told the assistant manager we would go to Asheville Mall and eat lunch and I asked him to call me on my cell phone to let me know when our room would be ready. An older couple was also checking in who had made a reservation and they were allowed to check-in early. Just out of curiosity, we drove around the side of the hotel and there were maybe 10 vehicles in the parking lot, and we did not see any housekeepers. The Assistant Manager never called me on my cell phone, nor did he offer any reason why after we went back to the hotel to check-in at 3pm. He was very unfriendly and he had very poor customer service skills. We were not asked if we had a preference to be on the poolside, or parking lot side. We were put at the far end of the building on the parking lot side. Only 3 of the 4 employees I talked with at the front desk had good customer skills. Ron sold us our Biltmore Estate tickets and he was friendly and helpful. The Assistant Manager, "Jed" and the other 2 "young men" need to take lessons from Ron! The "young men" also have no sense of direction. I asked Jed and another employee how to go to Biltmore Village. One employee said to go down the hill and the other said to go up the hill! How pathetic is that? The free complimentary hot breakfast was the best part of staying here. I doubt if we will stay at this Days Inn again.

loved it

The location was great, right by the mall, and down the road was dowtown, and not to mention the handfull of places to eat close by! The room was very nice, it was clean, and the bed was comferable. The breakfast was the best! Everything you could think of, and the staff was kind, and very helpful. Better than higher priced hotel I think. my husband and I will be sure to come back!
