Bad Service

We made our reservations for two rooms over a month before our stay on 07/03/2007. I called the hotel directly and got an excellent rate. I had a couple of requests for rooms with two beds for 2 adults, and 2 children in each room, because we were traveling with friends. Also for those rooms to be adjoining, for the ease of the young children. When we arrived, neither of our requests were met. We were told they don't have adjoining rooms, however one of the rooms we did get placed in was adjoining to the adjacent room. Which was NOT occupied by the other couple. Also we were told we only had confirmation for 2 adults total. Why would we need two double beds in both rooms for only 2 adults? The woman at the desk (Norma) was unable to tell us simple things about the hotel, she didn't know what type of rooms the hotel had or where the rooms were located. My wife and friend had to go around the hotel to confirm location of rooms to attempt to get two rooms close to each other. The woman at the desk was unable to tell us if any specific room was occupied or vacant, or if they had adjoining doors. We settled for two rooms at the end of a hall directly across from each other. The bright spot of the employees was the maintenance man, who was very helpful and polite.
