"THE" place to stay....

Our 26 anniversary and stayed here on recommendation from a friend. Had never visited OuterBanks area before. This inn is a gem. Innkeepers friendly and helpful. Room was lovely. In-town location wonderful. Access to local attractions and OuterBanks couldn't be better. Marina or street view equally appealing. Street view overlooks quaint village. Nighttime noise is non-existent.
In house "1587" restaurant is exceptional. Pricey, but well worth it, especially if you appreciate great food with discriminating presentation.
Only dislike was that bed was slightly uncomfortable relative to other hotel/inns we have visited ( Nantucket, MA, New Hampshire, Asheville, to name a few). Also, village businesses tend to close early, so evening strolls with expectations to browse shops, enjoy an ice cream or coffee is very limited. That said, plan to return before season is over.
