Seriously?!

We stayed at the Inn and had dinner at the restaurant. I was a little hesitant bc a few reviews knocked it; however a majority were singing their praises. I should have stock with my gut!
The Inn
Very picturesque setting; however it's all a façade. Rooms are heavily dated and we were without A/C on one of the hottest days of the year.
Sheets were clean; however heavily worn. Water in the room was matalic/rusty(?) as well.
The Restaurant
The lounge area is very classy looking; however the attention you get there was mediocre, which was odd bc we were the only ones there at first. It also didn’t help that the glass of wine I got was oxidized (funny how a place that prides itself on wine allows this to happen…twice).
Dinner was a little better; however I expected a lot more based on reputation and price. And the typical review comment of an empty dining room is not a stretch. It’s like a huge cruise ship dining area with maybe 5 tables full. The service was a plus in the dining area. Very nice kids who truly appreciated having a guest to serve.
My hanger steak was cooked nicely, although the cut of meet itself was shoddy, but my wife’s fish was dry, so we sent it back and the next one was as well. At least dessert was good.
Finally the wine. Tremendous list and fun to look at, but I think a lot of the names are just on there and they don’t actually have the wines (or maybe did once, but not anymore). It took three separate tries to pick one they had available. Not exactly a Wine Spectator "Grand Award" winer in my book!
Overall it was a poor experience. In this economy it’s tough to spend a lot of money. Because I had some quality time with my wife it wasn't a waste; however this place didn't make it easy. I don’t really think anyone should bother with Stonehedge, especially with the less stressful, more lively, less expensive and more pleasant options in nearby Nashua, NH which is only 10 minutes away (we went out to the very fun MT Bistro our second night in the area).
