The hotel is pet friendly and considering I travel EVERYWHERE with my little demon princess it's perfect. We are staying at a weekly rate, that is EXCELLENT! Breakfast is pretty good. And seems how we are staying weekly it is nice to have the empty lots all around to play fetch with my puppy. Great location! Was a little worried about airport noise considering I can see the runway from my room! But I haven't heard a noise yet. Extremely clean, and accommodating. I couldn't be happier with my stay so far! If it was warmer and later in the year I would be in that huge pool everyday!

what I dislike is the fact that is only 6:30 on a monday night and I cant get ahold of anyone to make a reservation and now by the reviews I have read, will not further bother to try. If they would put up a phone number that leads directly to an actual representitive would be great. Their loss. Would have been a week stay too.

I was told by the couple managing this motel, they have been there a month and the improvements were amazing!!! All the rooms have been completely renovated, new mattresses, linens, carpets etc. The whole staff was friendly and happy to serve our every need. The little breakfast bar was tasty & fresh. They are a pet friendly motel & Sherry played with my little dog everytime we went in or out. The prices were much better than the bigger hotels down the road. One lady who had been staying there weekly says the difference is like night & day with these new managers. I would recommend you to give this little hotel a look. We did and we will absolutely be back

I do apologize for the problems some of you had to endure underneath the previous ownership and management of the Marion Airport Inn & Suites. However, we're brand new, clean as ever, friendly staff, recently renovated. I know that by saying these things it won't reverse the past mistakes, but I do hope that you accept my apology as a new manager who has to reverse the rapport of this hotel. Thank you for your time, and also taking the time out to post your experiences.

we stayed recently at the hotel and while it wasnt the ritz, we werent expecting it to be. the rooms were very clean and well stocked, the housekeeper kelly made us feel right at home and made sure we had extras we asked for right away,she was also extremly familier with the area and gave excellent recommendations for shopping and restaurants. we will definently stay again and recommend to family and friends

We reserved a room for two nights at this hotel, the only one available because of the SIU homecoming. The first room we were given was so horrible I refused to stay in it. The carpet had hundreds of cigarette burns in it, as well as all the furniture. One of the bed spreads had small black "bumps" of "something" all over it, and both bedspreads, the blankets under the spreads, AND the sheets and pillowcases had burn holes in them. The material on the bathroom stool seat was bubbling off in pieces. We were taken to another room and told that it was absolutely the last room available, so in desperation we took it. No black chunks on either spread, but both carpet and bedding was in same shape as first room, and the toilet seat was just starting to bubble and flake off. We went to WalMart and purchased two new pillows, cases, and a clean blanket. We removed the hotel's blankets and prepared to settle in for the night, but when we pulled back the sheet....someone had already been there and left body hairs! There was someone else's body hair on the bathroom floor and tub. Next morning I took a "clean" washcloth from the rack, and discovered a discusting dried yellow mess....that cloth had NOT been laundered!!!! Nor had the bathroom been cleaned properly, mirror dirty, etc. We also found the woman at the front desk to be extremely rude when we checked out the following morning and didn't stay the second night, though we were NOT loud and rude in explaining why we were checking out. We too will be charged for both nights. I repeat, do NOT stay at this hotel, expecially if you have children....we wish we had seen these reviews before we booked that hotel. The only saving grace was that a room opened up at the Holiday Inn, and that facility is beautiful and CLEAN!!!, with a wonderful, friendly staff.

Recently I stayed at this hotel and found it a charming, quiet and clean place. Owners and staff, specially Brian and his wife were very freindly and helpful. Hotel is just outside a very small airport (I saw a small plane parked near a hangar, but did not see any plane land or take off). There is a nice restaurant a few yards away. I would definitely stay there on my next visit to Carbondale.

On 9/24/07 We stayed at this motel while husband had eye surgery at the VA hospital. The owner and his wife where very nice and went out of there way to make sure everything was fine. The room was very clean and the beds very comfortable. There is a Mexican Resturant within walking distance and the food was good. I would recommend this motel to my family and friends.

When my wife called to cancel a reservation, 8 days prior to our scheduled arrival date, she was told that there was a no cancellation policy and that they would be charging us full price (already doubled from their normal rates because of the graduation weekend at SIU-Carbondale). When my wife told them that two separate web sites indicated the usual 24 hr. cancelation policy (with one site indicating 3 days notification would be required for "Special events") she was informed that they had our credit card number and could place charges whenever they wanted. She then contacted DiscoverCard (within 10-15 minutes) to inform them in advance of our intent to dispute any charges claimed by Red Carpet Inn of Marion, IL, and was informed that they had just received a claim for authorization. When I called the Motel (3 hrs. later, upon arrival home from work) I was first told there was no manager present. However, upon apparently overhearing the woman stumbling with answers to my questions, a man did get on the phone long enough to yell at me (louder than I was yelling by this point) to "Do what you have to do!" prior to hanging up on me.
