DO NOT STAY HERE
By Mary, 06/23/09
Air Conditioner was not working. Shower drain broken. Remote to television not working. Non smoking room but the bedspread had a big burn mark. cups left in bathroom and empty toliet paper roll tossed under a chair beside the bed. manager was huffy and rude when informed that the room was in need of repair.

Safe and decent for good price
By Nessie, 04/20/09
It's a motel guys - not a five star hotel. You want to have a safe/decent place to stay in SF for a good price - this is it. While visiting my family in SF we stayed here for 10 days. For the low price (got a discount for long stay - didn't charge weekend rates) it was certainly worth it. For better price reserve straight through motel - not through Day's Inn reservation. Had to complain that cleaning woman smoked in our room once (that didn't happen again). Staff was helpful when we needed something - didn't go out of their way to help. Likes: Free parking, free wifi, close to beach for great walks, nextdoor to Buena Vista Cafe, free juice and fresh fruit in the morning, refrigerator and microwave in room, 5 minute drive to shopping center with large supermarket. Saved plenty by having food in room. Dislikes: Room a bit small - but can try to reserve larger, L shaped room. When first entered room was stuffy.

Mediocre at best
By ellie, 03/31/09
No kudos for this place. We stayed 4 days. Day one, housekeeping missed our room. We had two people in the room, but always got one hand towel. When I went to the front desk to ask for another, I was told they didn't have any. Instead, they gave me to wash clothes. The parking lot is quite dark, and the spaces were so tiny and bordered by cement posts. It took several tries each time just to park my Corolla without knocking off my mirror. My boyfriend had to get out of the car before I parked because there wasn't room to open the door on both sides. The breakfast bar includes juice and some small, packaged pastries. We won't be coming back.

TERRIBLE management
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/21/08
We reserved a non-smoking room on-line but as soon as we walked into the room it reeked of smoke. We went back to the managers (a mother and her son) and told them that the room reeked of smoke and asked for another one. They said that we did not request non-smoking room, so we left for a few minutes to find in our car the confirmation print-out for a non-smoking room. That didn't make any difference to them - they REFUSED to give us ANY room after that, saying that we were "troublemakers." I don't know why they are in this business if they dislike people so much. They act like they don't care at all if they have guests or not, thereby making it a very inhospitable and openely antagonistic atmoshpere. This was the worst experience we have ever had in ANY hotel. We would NEVER go back.

Love the Ocean
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/27/07
My husband and I stay at this hotel quite frequently because he has quite a bit of treatment at the VA Hospital and it is easier to stay than make the 104 mile trip each time we come. The room is always clean and all amenities that we request because he is disabled are fully granted. We always enjoy the visit.

Rude Staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/28/07
I made reservations for 2 room for a 2 night stay for my staff. The man who said he was the manager said it was no problem. He gave me the confirmation numbers. I requested that the confirmation be emailed or faxed to me. He said they were not allowed to do that. My staff came in very late and stayed the night. They wanted to stay for only one night instead of 2. I called the hotel to make sure we were not charged for 2 nights. The manager said no because I had only made a reservation for 1 night. I reminded him it was for 2 night and he yelled at me that he had been doing this for 10 years and I didn't know what I was talking about. He would not let me get a word in, so I yelled back and he hung up on me. I know it was unprofessional of me to yell, but he shouldn't have yelled and hung up on me. I tried calling back to apologize for my behavior, but everytime I told them my name they either hung up on me or put me on extended hold. After trying several times, I called the 800 number for Days Inn and found out that the Hotel was individually owned and that they couldn't take the complaint, that I would have to complain to the owner. So much for good service.

Rude Manager!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/14/06
The hotel is in a good location close to SFSU, the beach and the zoo. The room was clean and a good $$ value. The NEGITIVE is it's managed by a GM that's RUDE and inconsiderate. He called my room and starting yelling at me because I parked in the wrong parking spot. I came down to move my car and he started yelling and cussing at me, then threaten to kick my family out of HIS hotel. There are a lot of other hotels in the area, who needs this verbal abuse on a family vacation. Find another hotel!
