Very nice but lacking in amenities
By Marlene, 5/26/11
No free WiFi. Since I was there for business this was disappointing. I paid $12.95 for one day of crappy intermintent service. The $24 per day for valet parking (the only parking they offer) was outrageous. The closed pool and spa were very disappointing with no advance notice. They did do a great job for our group meetings, but with the other drawbacks, I wouldn't book a business meeting there again!!

Good not great
By Warren, 7/8/10
Everythig was good but the rooms are starting to get run down. I had family out from the East Coast and was a not happy with our room. it looked like a rock band had just departed. Holes in the walls cracks in the furniture. everything else was fine.

Wow
By Nicole Stroh, 10/8/09
Take my breath away! Top floor, sunset/pier view from our own balcony - Oh Yeah! What a nice hotel, nice staff, nice accommodations. Pool was nice too but proximity to beach way overstepped the pool. Hotel lets you borrow beach chairs n towels for beach visit - very nice! We had the sliding glass door open every night (couldnt hear the waves crashing) but it was so nice! I cant say enough - well except that the valet parking of $25/day stunk but valet was a nice amenity! Family friendly too.

Loved this hotel!
By Kristy B, 6/24/08
The staff were willing to go to any length to help, the beds are amazingly comfortble and everything is very very clean. The pool and hot tub are both clean and refreshing. I loved this pool because it was never too crowded. The views are breathtaking and it it close to the pier and downtown shops and restaurants.

good big box hotel
By David, 2/10/07
Face it, the world is a dumpy place, and rust never sleeps. Go here for that false sense of security. Ocean noise to lull, nice regular/familiar rooms, comfy and modern, anti toe-stub lights? First time for this kid! Ought to get around more? This place will do, staff was up to speed for the most part, only had one boring moment with the hotel resturant, well, no actually, two, the first was a drunken loud group, out of control, during our late snack, lay-out issues, dining tables right on top of the bar, but the staff was on it, drop kicked the group out the door was what I hear, and it did not go on. Dignity prevailed. And the second moment was the breakfast waitstaff, good service, but the cat beat himself out of a gratuity in line with the size of our family group, and penciled in twenny bucks for his tip, must have been my haircut? Was in town to see family, next time will check in at this nice enough place. Oh, nice workout room too. Wonder if I would have been shot for taking wieghts out by the pool?

Not worth the money
By BeachGirl, 1/19/07
Not worth the money, I have traveled all over the us and would not stay in another Hilton hotel based on my experience with the one in Huntington Beach. Location was great but cleanliness for the money was unsatisfactory to say the least. The robes were stained the bathroom had mold issues. These are unsatisfactory conditions for a hotel of this caliber. My comments made on the card left in the room were left un-addressed. Completely unprofessionial in my book.

HB Perfection - $ But Worth It
By Hannicat, 4/8/06
The first time I stayed here, I was wowed. I came with my boyfriend from SF to have him meet my mother for the first time. The hotel room was excellent, linens, view, quality everything, wonderful bed, traditional yet hip. This was extremely great in contrast to a place we had made reservations for on the road, just up the street ... surf and sands or something like that, which we ran from in disgust ... the smells, the strangeness of it all ... beyond gross for over $100/night. While significantly higher priced, the Hilton was like being on a different planet (ours), definitely worth the $150 more. Now, whenever I go back, i don't even think of going anywhere else. It's so convenient and service oriented and consistent, you just can't beat it. They even let us check in very early (more than once) which was exactly the kind of service we pay for. Checking in later would have really put a dent in our whole wknd plan. The best part was brunch the next day ... we came for sunday brunch, but instead of having the ocean view like I expected when I made the reservation, we were put in a back banquet room ... which was not going to work for this VERY special occasion. It took a little doing and persistence on my part, but they moved us to a wonderful patio table (unfortunately, they started serving us at the back room - because once seated the service staff is totally on top of it - so it was a little awkward switching tables at this point - partly my/group dynamics fault, I should never have allowed us to sit down there) ... My mother had lived in HB all her life and never experienced the Hilton, or such an elegant breakfast seaside. It was truly a special memory we will share for a very long time. Not only was this a special occasion because my boyfriend was meeting mom for the first time, but I had recently met this biological mother only 2 yrs prior, so we have a lot of make up celebrating to do!!! I want every occasion to be something memorable. I wanted it to be perfect and it really was. Note to future brunch guests ... make sure they can accomodate your group in the main dining room ... it's just not the same being in a back windowless room. While the food is wonderful, the ambience of the main area with views of the ocean is what we're all there for. Cheers to one of the classiest places I've discovered in HB. I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Just wish there was a frequent visitor discount.

Great Location
By Alex, 6/27/05
The hotel was great. Not crowded and within walking distance to beach and downtown. A little pricey, but worth it.
