As soon as you pay, they ignore you.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/29/11
My wedding was at Terrace on the Park. My guests stayed at LaGuardia Plaza Hotel by the recommendations of my banquet manager. I contacted his contact about making a reservation for several people for the night of the wedding and some of them decided to pay for themselves for a few days before and after the event. Since I couldn't make a block reservation for only 1 night, I paid for the hotel through Getaroom. One of the prepaid reservations was never found. On the day of my wedding, I had to deal with a lot drama in order to find his reservation. One of the other guests decided to stay with relatives in order for the other person to have the room. That was embarrassing for me and my family and extremely unprofessional. I showed the desk clerk the confirmation number from getaroom and they still couldn't fix the problem. The next day, the manager found out the guest's last name was booked wrong, starting with LL instead of IL. He wouldn't refund me the money, though, claiming it was me who filled out his name incorrectly and I should contact getaroom for a refund. I sent them a screen shot of the getaroom reservation. I even contacted the regional sales manager but to no avail. The manager wouldn't hear about it, call or investigate further. Apart from the humiliation the hotel put us through, they wouldn't even try to rectify the issue. I really wanted to put positive reviews about the hotel just like I would for my wedding vendors, but they made it really hard for me.

Bedbugs, Fleas, Rust, Stains, Fingernails....
By Frank, 7/7/10
This hotel is shockingly outdated and filthy, especially for one that bills itself as a four star (or 3.5, as Priceline calls it) property. From faulty shower nozzles to boogers on the walls to a fuzzy TV from the 1980s, this place was a total dump. It marks the last time I will ever use Priceline to get hotels. If you want to go cheap, you'd be better off at a youth hostel. Most importantly, I awoke to multiple bedbug bites. The hotel denied it, and I see from this site and TripAdvisor, that seems to be their pattern - deny. Is it any wonder I saw a pile of discarded mattresses in one hotel corridor? If you see a positive review, my guess is a hotel employee wrote it. Avoid like the plague.

I am a flight attendant and they make us stay at this hotel on our LGA overnights. We hate it (because it is DIRTY) and there is an on-going issues with our union as we are trying to get it switched to somewhere that is better kept. Plus there seems to be a worker's strike going becuase the employees are mistreated. NOT RECOMMENED!

A mess
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/25/08
This place smells and there was drumming outside during the day. The phone didn't work when I tried to use it. The room was really tiny and the sheets were dingy.

No sleep
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/9/08
When I got in after my 10 hour flight, I arrived to people outside yelling and pounding on drums. All I wanted was to sleep! The place also looked awful, dirty, and old. The food was ok and the location was good.

We would stay here anytime!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/18/08
Staff was very friendly and professional. They allowed us to check in early at 9am instead of waiting untill 3pm. The room was clean, beds were comfortable. I especially enjoyed the coffee maker and wireless internet. The shuttle to the subway was very convenient. My biggest complaint was that the bathroom was a little dark. The restaurant and bar were mostly very good. However they were very expensive. The breakfast buffet was not very tasty, but when we bought breakfast it was very good.

On a scale of 1-5: a definite 3
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/12/07
Likes: 1. Room was very clean 2. Room was very spacious 3. Restaurant served good tasting quality food 4. Customer Service in general was generous 5. Location is readily accessible to MTA so commuting into Manhattan was simple. Dislikes: 1. Shuttle too and from the airport was quite slow – waited for 45min to be picked up when we arrived! 2. No dedicated Concierge department – we had to pay to access the internet to get our boarding pass for our departure. We received this service free of charge at a BEST WESTERN! 3. Walls were thinner than most hotels we’ve stayed in the past. We were able to hear conversations from adjacent rooms.

The Crowne Plaza hotel was a great hotel to stay at, I would advise anyone to stay at this hotel, very clean, the rooms are very spacious, the service is excellent, food is very delicious, overall I would rate this hotel 4.5 out of 5, mainly because it is the perfect place to enjoy your stay in NY.
