I am a flight attendant and they make us stay at this hotel on our LGA overnights. We hate it (because it is DIRTY) and there is an on-going issues with our union as we are trying to get it switched to somewhere that is better kept. Plus there seems to be a worker's strike going becuase the employees are mistreated. NOT RECOMMENED!

Don't Recommend
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/29/09
This place is a total waste of money. At night, there were clearly prostitutes in the room next to us. I felt unsafe having my children with me. I will not be going back. On top of that, the restaurant wasn't even open in the hotel and there is nothing good close by. Don't stay at this hotel.

A mess
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/25/08
This place smells and there was drumming outside during the day. The phone didn't work when I tried to use it. The room was really tiny and the sheets were dingy.

No sleep
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/09/08
When I got in after my 10 hour flight, I arrived to people outside yelling and pounding on drums. All I wanted was to sleep! The place also looked awful, dirty, and old. The food was ok and the location was good.

We would stay here anytime!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/18/08
Staff was very friendly and professional. They allowed us to check in early at 9am instead of waiting untill 3pm. The room was clean, beds were comfortable. I especially enjoyed the coffee maker and wireless internet. The shuttle to the subway was very convenient. My biggest complaint was that the bathroom was a little dark. The restaurant and bar were mostly very good. However they were very expensive. The breakfast buffet was not very tasty, but when we bought breakfast it was very good.

On a scale of 1-5: a definite 3
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/12/07
Likes: 1. Room was very clean 2. Room was very spacious 3. Restaurant served good tasting quality food 4. Customer Service in general was generous 5. Location is readily accessible to MTA so commuting into Manhattan was simple. Dislikes: 1. Shuttle too and from the airport was quite slow – waited for 45min to be picked up when we arrived! 2. No dedicated Concierge department – we had to pay to access the internet to get our boarding pass for our departure. We received this service free of charge at a BEST WESTERN! 3. Walls were thinner than most hotels we’ve stayed in the past. We were able to hear conversations from adjacent rooms.

"Just OK"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/14/07
My husband and I stayed at this hotel after a wedding at Terrace on The Park. Although we had a non-smoking room, it still smelled of stale cigarette smoke. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the linens seemed to be of good quality and clean. I liked the fact that it was a white duvet cover and white sheets. On the evening we stayed, there was no food service and the bar was closed with no explanation. That was a big minus considering they advertised a very delicious looking brunch and breakfast menu just about everywhere you went in the hotel only to find that they were not serving any food that weekend. Only upon leaving the hotel the next morning did I figure out why there was no food---apparently there was some sort of strike in progress(as evidenced by the very large blow-up rat w/ huge fangs that was outside of the hotel entrance). They did have a pretty good size hotel store which offered quite a bit of stuff and it was open for business. The woman that was working on that sat. morning was not too friendly though! Back to the room-- the bathroom was clean , however VERY dark...almost no lighting. Also, no electrical outlet. The shower was clean and large. Towels were clean and soft. Staff--Very friendly and helpful with directions. Overall appearance-- it was ok. Could tell it was an older hotel and probably could use a little re-freshening. Bottom line: this hotel was ok for the money($125/night). It is relatively easy to get to NYC or any of the other boroughs by car or train to Manhattan is easy. They have shuttle service to the airport which is about 5 mins away. When I heard the name Crowne Plaza, I was thinking more elegance--especially since it is a Mariott hotel.

NEVER AGAIN!!
By T, 04/29/05
NEVER AGAIN!! What a hassle!! I pre-paid for a non-smoking two double bed room for 4/16/05, called the hotel the next day stated that I am very alergic to cigarettes please make sure it is smoke free. After the 3 of us checked in, we were given a one bed room that reaked of smoke. The hotel said stay in the room, we will try to find something else. After the allergy attack, they gave us a room with 2 beds no working shower/tub, faulty plumbing, and they wanted me to switch rooms to shower in the morning or let in the 7:00am maintence man. (The clue: with in 5 minutes of checking in 2 seperate guests waiting for the elevator said toilets overflowed and never again.)The elevator buttons were installed wrong and don't light up. In the morning on 4/17 a reciept slipped under my door showed a credit of the full hotel charges, upon leaving I was assured one had been issued. There has been no credit of any kind issued, after 2 phone calls, I am still waiting, they are still stalling. The room was old, beds so so.
