Good
Siam City is nice, the lobby is pleasant, they have a nice bar and lounge area, a couple of restaurants (the Thai one is fabulous!)They have a new bakery that is really good as well. The room service menu is limited(in my opinion)but the food is really good (Thai soups & the duck especially) The staff is very friendly but some of them speak a very limited amount of English. They are eager to please and are quite helpful. The door men are great at hailing taxi's and very willing to haul your heavy bags wherever they need to go. You are able to book tours at the hotel, the hotel has a couple stores, a spa, a pool and is quiet minus the traffic noise (not too bad)
The rooms are nothing to celebrate about but are not horrible either (I had a double w/a "king" (two beds pushed together and made seperately) The bathrooms are spacious but my tub did not drain well and for the toilet to actually flush, you had to hold the lever down for a while. Also, there is no wireless internet, must use the LAN line and must get a code at the front desk.
Overall, The Siam City Hotel is nice for those who aren't very concerned with luxury but want a place that is well known in the city (for taxi's etc), has good food, friendly staff, a nice atmosphere and are not too concerned with a few plumbing problems.
