Not any more, unfortunately...

I'm a bit of an expert on this hotel, haiving stayed there about ten times or more. I used to love it - and indeed, what's not to like: Great location, fantastic views, nice rooms etc. But recently, the hotel has obviously decided to cut staff costs drastically, and as a result guests are now faced by people with serious language and/or attitude problems, slackness, unfriendliness and a general no can do attitude.

Best location

Location is the best in the city. Rooms are clean and romantic - for couples. Menu is good enough. You can feel the spirit of the city while staing there

Would definitely stay here again
By ,
I stayed at this hotel during my first visit to Edinburgh in 2005. Turned out be a great choice for me. First of all, it's located on the Royal Mile right in what I'd call the 'touristy section.' It's surrounded by shops and restaurants, and is an easy walk to the castle. The room was wonderful -- modern decor, spacious, large comfy bed, quiet, beautiful views, and a cool bathroom. It was a real treat. Supposedly this hotel is haunted (a lot of the city is). For me, that adds a great sense of fun! Highly recommend.

Perfect!
By ,
The hotel was beautiful and had a very modern look to it on the inside, but still fit in with everything else in that part of the city. The beds are very comfortable. I also loved the location. It was very convenient to get around to all the sights from there. The bar and resturaunt area was very lively and fun.

Fine for what it is
By ,
We liked it but it is nothing to jump up and down about. Very convenient location. Large well equipped and newly decorated rooms. Good breakfast (but very busy Sunday morning). Variable service from reception and housekeeping. Satisfactory leisure facilities.

\"No\" is our favourite word!
By ,
Surely you've seen those advert's with former SNL alum, David Spade, where he says "no" to every question asked? He certainly provided training to the staff at this Radisson. I travel all over the world and this one of the worst hotels I've stayed in. They want to nickle and dime the customer to death. At most hotels a simple newspaper is complimentory. Not here, they'll want to OVER charge you for it. Although there is internet in the room, it extremely expensive. Definately not for the tourist. The rooms in the month of June were sweltering! Apparently they hadn't "tuned on" their AC. But we did get a pathetically small fan and a letter of apology. The location is nice but is offset by the terrible service and high price for EVERYTHING. Save yourself some money, don't stay here!
