Never again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/30/09
I didn't expect the best, but I expected more than what was there. Our rooms, 327 & 328 were on property that looks like it was part of another inn previously, not on the original inn therefore we had to walk even further to the main strip. The beds were pitiful....maybe 10-20 yrs old??? My back hurt for the three nights we stayed there. There were four other members of my party who say the same. The pillows were very flat. The towels were thin and rough. The TV's in the room were tiny 19", which was not great for watching a collegiate football game on Thanksgiving weekend. The response from the manager about the TV when I complained is that they have deluxe rooms with bigger TVs available. If you look at their website there is nothing on there about it, they just advertise the deluxe rooms with a fireplace. The first night when my niece turned down her bed there was some tissue between the sheets. Other than that it was clean. However we couldn't get an iron on our check in day because there was no staff available. I would think that housekeeping would check that each time they clean to be sure the iron was not removed. There was a small refrigerator and a coffee pot. The location was OK. I would not recommend this as a place to stay and will not stay there again.

Great Getaway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/23/08
Our family went over the Easter weekend in 2008. We enjoyed the new Mountain condos with the two bedrooms. It is close to everything in Gatlinburg.

Great for the price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/11/08
We have a girls trip the first weekend of December. We've been doing this for 5 years and have stayed at Johnson's each year. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. The room is always clean. Yes, the hotel is dated and old, but is great for the price. The location can't be beat. We park our car when we get there and don't get back in until we leave for home. The newer portion of the hotel is being turned into condo's. However, the older section is still clean and spacious. The rates can't be beat for location and being clean. If you're looking for a clean place to stay that's in a great location...Johnson's is the place for you. If you're looking for modern decor, entertainment in your room instead of in the town and extras (irons, internet, etc) then pay more and go to a newer hotel. We'll be going back to Johnson's again in December 2008. We've already booked it!

Love this inn!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/31/07
I stayed here the first week of December for a well needed break from all responsibilites of home and work. This is a wonderful place to stay for many reasons. It has a great location, very friendly and helpful staff. I got some much needed rest and relaxation and exercise. You can walk as much or as little as you want from this location. This was my third year of being here and I intend to keep coming back. My room was a first floor room in the older or non-condo building and I was very pleased with it. The bed was very comfortable. Keep up the good work! Hope to see you in 2008!

What a wonderful place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/25/07
We stayed at the Johnson inn on Nov 30th thru dec 2nd for our honeymoon. This place is absolutely wonderful. We had a Jacuzzi room and loved it. The room was clean when we arrived and ready. The inn is located just far enough off the main drag to be quiet but just close enough to be convient. We walked everywhere we went. Shopping was a breeze the inn was close to town so we could easily bring our packages back to the room and drop them off. I would stay there again!!!!!! For the price, the service, and location this place cant be beat.

Cant waitto go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/19/07
This place was in a great location. We stayed in the old part of the hotel but it was still nice. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The toilet did flush by itself randomally but nothing we couldnt deal with. The room was clean and had a lot of storage space for clothing and things. We loved staying here and we are getting ready to book a room with the again!

Old and Dirty
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/10/07
We stayed at the Johnson's in this past October. We arrived at our room and we were very disapointed. The room was dirty and run down. I understand that the place is not the newest place in the smokies but some paint, a screwdriver and some cleaner can do wonders!!! The towel bars were about to fall off the wall, the wall paper was coming off the wall, dusty everywhere!!! As much as it costs to stay, i think some updates are due!! We were disappointed. We will never stay again. Save your money and stay somewhere else!!!!!!!! The location is great, that is the only perk!!

Great place to stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/29/07
We stayed 2 nights. We were in one of the new condo units on the second floor. It had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. It was really nice and clean. We had 4 adults, there was plenty of room!. The location is wonderful. We would stay again!

Farewell
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/08/07
We stayed at Johnson's for almost 20 years. in October of 2006 we learned that the newer tower was being converted into Condos. We were put in a room in the old building the lamps were very dusty. The noise in the older building was very anoying, people stood outside our door and talked loudly for hours. We were very dissapointed in this stay after so many wonderful years. This year we are staying someplace else!!!
