Give It A Try
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/16/10
Sometimes reviews can be misleading. We stayed at the Glenstone Lodge, Jan.3, 2010. I can tell you that the service was great. Although the hotel is dated, everything was very clean. The staff was very courteous and professional. If you want a nice clean place to stay, Give the Glenstone a try, then form your own opinion. We look forward to returning in the spring.

Really enjoyed our stay before Christmas. Hotel was quiet, room was very clean and comfortable, housekeeping staff wonderful, Breakfast Buffet was reasonably priced and delicious. Pool looked cool but we don't swim. Will stay again.

Couldn't Have Been Better
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/06/09
Housekeeping staff was great, we had nice fresh towels each day and all the amenities. Our room was very clean. Although a fridge in the room would have been nice. Hotel is dated, service is excellent. I hope we get a balcony room when we return.

Great bed and delicious breakfast
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/19/09
We stayed at Glenstone Lodge because we got a great price. The bed was comfortable, breakfast was delicious in the restaurant and a good price. We did not use the pool but saw a lot of kids having a great time, They have a nice covered picnic area by a rushing mountain stream right beside their outdoor swimming pool. Overall a great experience. Not the newest but very clean.

Find another hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/01/08
Besides the place being outdated, musty smelling, clogged drains and roaches, the location is good. But the owners sure need to realize how unfriendly their staff is to guests. Everything was a bother to them and we caught one manager in a lie about a refund they owed us. We gave them cash, awaiting our credit card to come in FedEx. When our card came in and we put the room on it, we were told they couldn't give our cash back because it was already deposited and we would have to get a check issued from their corporate office and it would take two weeks to do it! Found out they don't even have a corporate office! Some of the desk help even had their babies at the desk while working, very unprofessional. We were there with a conference group and have notified them to never do business with GlennStone again! Loved Gatlinburg though!

Will NEVER go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/13/08
My husband and I found this place on the internet, great pixs of the front and the pool. We both regret they do not have smell-o-internet when we arrived we were sent around back where NOTHING is great NO PARKING 2nd floor room that the furniture was waterlogged non smoking room that was apparently SMOKING I got so sick from about 20 min. in the room we had to leave my husband went to the front desk and told them our dismay THE VERY RUDE CLERK told him NO MORE ROOMS so we left to get some much needed FRESH air I told my husband NO WAY can we stay there so about 2 hours later we return to a different clerk who said we could move to another room!?!? ok I do not think so , so we spend to much time looking for another place to stay instead of having FUN the moral of this is REMEMBER anyone can make a pile of crap look good on the internet and you also do not get the SMELL I recommend just wait til you get there and find a room that is our policy now. We go to the Smokies bout 5-7 times a year, and also sometimes CHEAP is better!!!!!!!

roaches
By chris, 11/15/07
we just got back from this so-called lodge. This place was a nightmare. We first seen some huge roaches in the pool area.I complained and the front desk clerk said they have been a problem. My family and I came back late the next night and I turned on the light in our room and their on the dresser was another roach, I had my wife take the roach to the front desk because I was furious so I sat and waited with my 10 month old boy and five year old daughter who had spent the whole week in this room eating cookies he would drop on this same floor where we found yet another roach.so didn't return and I gather the kids and headed down to the desk with them,I met her getting on the elevater and she said desk clerk said there was nothing he could do. We all then walked to the desk and told the clerk I wanted something done now, he said he couldn't help me I said One more time i want Something done now My family is not going to stay here another night,so he proceded to call the Gatlinburg Police on me and went and hid in an office instead of helping me,so the police arive a couple minutes later and completly agree with me they should be able to do something for me now, they even offer to help me find a clean place, and file a report for me.this was all at 1:30 in the morning so we left and drove around the other hotels were booked the Smokey mountain gift show was that same week, we ended up cutting short vacation and driving the seven hours home after all we still had to put everything out side and go through it and wash it so I didn't infest my own house. I got home and checked out some differnt sites on hotel reviews and this so-called lodge has had this roach problem at least for a year. I thought that it was crazy the desk clerk was aware of problems with roaches but the general manager said she had never heard any complaints about it.I would not advise anybody to stay here at all it ruined our vacation don't let it do the same to yours. My advice is to read the reviews before you visit I will next time

Not much for the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/06/07
We were told the room was 109.00 nightly but 122.00 was charged to my card. Also I was told it was 2 blocks to main parkway and that was a lie it was at least 3/4 mile if not 1 mile since I had my elderly mother with me this was too far for her to walk. NEEDS TO BE UPDATED. Everything seemed very old.
