delightfully tacky ? more like disgustingly dirty

I never stayed at San Remo (the former owner of this dump) but I'm pretty sure I got a snapshot of what that place was like - except the rugs were that many years cleaner. Fortunately, I only stayed 1 night and I just learn that this place is losing tons of money and has decided that the whole "Hooters" theme is a lost cause. Why not just close now and spare us the pain ? The guy that checked me in was an idiot. He said I had a room with a view of the pool (not that I asked for one). The view was of the parking garage. The elevators weren't working, they had crude hand drawn signs pointing to other elevators - down some disgusting fire escapes. The carpets in the hallways looked like they'd been shipped in from the New Orleans convention center - they were FILTHY !!! They had power strips between the TV and desk, in all my years of travel, and I've stayed at some dives, I've NEVER seen a hotel use power strips, never. I guess the MGM fire isn't fresh enough in their minds. It's amazing that this place is listed as a 3 star hotel. hint hint - Beware if using price_line.

Never Again!

We've stayed at many, many hotels around the country and quite a few over the years in Vegas. We have never before paid so much for so little. You get the minimum for the most money. There is no coffee maker in the room. Internet service costs $12.95 a day. Airport noise is terrible. The bathroom needed to be painted and the flooring was chipped everywhere. You are practically forced to use a bellman for bags as there are no luggage carts in the lobby. Our hallway on the 5th floor smelled like old smoke and dead socks. The only food available is in the restaurants...no quick bites/snacks to eat anywhere. There are plenty of "Hooters" to be seen in Vegas....there's no need to come to this hotel!!!

Great Hotel to Stay!

This hotel isn't as large as all the rest on the strip, but to me I wouldn't stay any other place in Vegas, and I have been 5 time now, staying at different hotels, and by far Hooters is the best! As a matter of fact we are going back in March, 2008. Where the casino is, you have access to the restaurants, and shopping stores. Trust me you wont need a map to make it throught this nice hotel without getting lost! The people and sounderings were awesome. When we walked into our room, it was very nice, and roomy, and clean. We went to the pool, which was awesome, and while we were there it seemed like EVERYONE enjoyed themselves!The casino even paid out, my husband and I did very well! For the money, trust me this is the place to stay!

Worst Restaurant Experience

My aunt and uncle stayed at Hooters and we all went to lunch at the Hooters restaurant. I had never been to a Hooters before and decided to FINALLY see what the big deal was for their wings. After waiting for about 45 minutes to an hour for our food, the wings were a HUGE disappointment. I got the "mild" and all it tasted like was fried chicken. There was no sauce or spice at all. My aunt and uncle got the "hot" and they had little sauce and could maybe pass for "mild." The curly fries tasted like they were cooked that morning; they weren't hot and tasted like something I could throw in the oven from my feeezer. Granted, my aunt and uncle did say that they've tasted much better in the past and it was a lot different this time. The service was terrible and extremely "snooty." Maybe it was because we weren't a group of guys to give them tips for their cleavage and we were there to actually eat, I don't know. What I do know is that my "Hooters experience" was terrible and I will not be back.

i love hooters

Me and my two buddies just stayed for about a week at Hooters and had the time of our lives. The staff was all awesome and treated us just like you would expect by going into a Hooters, like we are the coolest guys around, and they got tipped just like at a Hooters. The location was great, just a short jot to the south end of the strip, with easy access to public transportation. The room was very nice and plenty big, we didnt spend alot of time in it but from 6 A.M. until noon it was perfect for a nap. Everyone working was a lot of fun, you couldn't get a complaint out of me if you tried. PS There are some beautiful girls working there.

Good place, Good price

It was not anything fancy but the room was a good size and it's just around the corner from the strip. Well worth the money saved to stay here and walk the strip.

The pools and the Dam Restaurant are awesome!

We had so muc fun staying there. We went for spring break and the weather was nice enough to swim. The pool was warm, there are a few pools, one with a waterfall, and about 3 hot tubs. The ambience was fun and friendly; there was a beach party every night. The Dam Restaurant is open 24 hours a day and they serve up diner food, although for breakfast there is a buffet. We got more bang for our buck here and we're going again next month!

Good price, nice rooms, and near the strip

What more could you ask for. The casino itself is small compared to the others, but I liked to stay there because I knew where everything was (restaurants, shops etc.) I didn't need a map of the place like other large hotels. The rooms were excatly like seen in the virtual tour. The rooms were a great deal compared to others. We were very close to the monorail (located at MGM) which takes you everywhere. It was nice to have a smaller hotel to stay in compared to huge ones where you are unappriected. I didn't really use the pool, but I checked it out. One draw back is the amount of young men there. If you are a single gal and going with friends then this is a great place for you. Lots of young men for you. There is also couples too. I went with my husband and my parents and it didn't bother us at all. Great place to stay.

Surpise at check-in

Be prepared to give over your credit card for an incidentals hold when you check-in. If it is a debit card, it's $25 a night, and if neither are available, only $100 cash a night! Huge surprise we weren't prepared for at check-in, and yes I read the website. No where I could find this info, which is infuriating! We were in Vegas for a wedding, stayed at the Tropicana 2 nights, then moved to Hooters. We go to Vegas a lot, so it's fun to stay different places. Anyways, we decided to just carry cash with us, so our debit cards were empty. Wasn't a problem at Tropicana, but was a huge problem at Hooters. They wouldn't check us in without $200 cash, and when we got mad, we were informed it isn't her fault that we don't have the money! Who wants to hand over $200 cash on a trip? Finally, a family member put it on their card, but it was not a good experience. The manager did comp us drinks for the hassle. The room was nice, but the tub wouldn't drain, maintance did respond quickly though. Also, the cocktail waitresses never seemed to be around. We played for an hour without seeing one, so we went to bar to get our own drinks. Overall, not impressed with our stay!

A Great Weekend

We arrived on 8/11/07 and stayed until 8/14/07.We had a room overlooking the pool.The place is small and it is 2 blocks from the strip, but the service was great and the staff was very friendly and helpful.We ate twice at the DAM restaurant.Food was average and a little pricey but much cheaper than other places.There are 3 pools.1 was warm,1 was a little cold and the 1 with the waterfall was freezing.We would defidently stay here again.
