Beautifully restored excellent on-site restaurant!

This was the first time my husband and I have stayed at the Captain Daniel Stone Inn since it's opening and we both agree that the owners have done an exceptional job with the renovations of this historic building. You can see it in the every detail. We stayed in a King room, it was well appointed and the beds were super comfortable. Turn-down service even included a complimentary bottle of water, a "made-in-Maine" maple candy and the relaxing sounds of the ocean.... from the bedside clock which is also a therapeutic sound machine. Aside from the fact that we had an action packed day (we took advantage of walking the Androscoggin Trail next to the Inn), it didn't take long to fall asleep in this comfortable setting.
No. 10 Water Restaurant was also a great experience. We dined here both nights and were not disappointed... the Mt. Adams chicken was fantastic as well as the mushroom / crab soup. The atmosphere was comfortable and there is a large fireplace separating the bar and the dining area.
The Inn is close to all major routes - our weekend in particular consisted of a scenic drive down Route 24 to Bailey Island and then North on Route 1 to take in the views of Rockland and Camden. At the end of our day, the Captain Daniel Stone Inn was a relaxing way to cap off the night with a great meal and restful sleep. We look forward to returning.
