Friendliest Staff in Europe

After booking our hotel at a late date and having few choices available, this hotel was a very pleasant surprise. The rooms were comfortable and clean, but nothing fancy. (Don't expect hotels in Europe to be like hotels in the U.S.!) The staff at this hotel was the real standout. We were a mother and college-age daughter traveling alone and had the most wonderful, friendly people we met in all of Europe at this hotel! There was always an English-speaking person at the desk ready and willing to help us with directions, advice, anything we asked... starting with getting there at 10:00 a.m. after a long flight and being allowed to get into our room right away! And they will gladly hold your luggage behind the desk on your departure day after check-out for as long as you need them to until you depart their beautiful city.
While the Median was not in the center of the city, it IS across the street from a Metro Station and a public bus stop, so getting anywhere you want to go is very easy. Also, there is a grocery store and an internet stop just a couple blocks from here. We had a window overlooking the street, which was a bit noisier but really fun to look out every morning and night after a day of exploring. Not too noisy, though, since it's not in the center of the city. Breakfast buffet is also available, and the croissants were amazing!!!
All in all, a very friendly place to stay and we would highly recommend it to any Americans looking for a "home away from home" in Paris.
