brief stay was fine
By ,
Since I've stayed at the Parc 55 in San Francisco many times with good results, I decided to try the Waikiki Parc. It did not disappoint - nor was it an incredible experience. The front desk staff checked us in promptly and efficiently. The guest room and bathroom were both immaculate. Again, nothing that will dazzle you, but they were fine. The bed was very comfortable & I got a great night's sleep (before boarding another plane and heading to Australia). If you want a Hawaiian experience, skip Oahu all together (or at least stay on the other side of the island). Honolulu is similar to many large cities throughout the world. Do yourself a favor and go to Maui, the Big Island or Kauai instead.

Beautiful lobby
By ,
The lobby had this hip young feel to it, they room also carried that feeling with the stainless steel and dark wood. The staff was super friendly. I only wish they offered better room service. Also advoid getting a room with the back street. All night you hear the truck back up horns and the remodeling of the bus station.

Note: Bring Earplugs
By ,
The service was outstanding. Randy is the best bell hop in town. The management will try its best to honor your requests, but they can only go so far. The proximity to the beach was nice, though I can't say much for the dated exterior. The interior was nicer. As for earplugs, they are mandatory for this noisy hotel. The daytime is fine, if you don't mind the Trump hotel and surrounding construction drone all day. Just keep your windows closed and you'll be fine. If you've stayed at the Venetian in Vegas, you'll be familiar with the construction party in your ear every pleasurable minute you're there. So I'm up past the 20th floor and the windows are closed, plus it's the middle of the night. What kind of noise could there possibly be? Try delivery trucks, buses, garbage tanks, and everything you can imagine short of an industrial railway system. The reason for this congregation of noise, the beeping trucks backing up, the roar of diesel engines? Your four-star hotel is stuck between the back sides of the Sheraton, the Wyndam Resort, the five star Heleukalani, and a few parking garages. Did I mention the car alarm symphony opus a.m.? So, how did I survive my week? EARPLUGS. My ear holes felt so tender every morning that they felt alien-probed and violated. The bed was also lumpy and not quite up to par with 4 star standards though the linens were nice. But maybe I'm just being picky. I'd like to thank John Flin of the SF Chronicle and Don Ho for their official endorsement of this hotel. Nice job guys.

3rd times the charm!
By ,
My trip to Hawaii was for business, but of course I was able to squeeze a large serving of vacation into the deal. Especially since it is a month long trip. Because of a mix up where I was originally supposed to stay, I arrived at the airport with no idea where I was staying, and with it being the busy season, many hotels were booked up. I found myself at my first hotel, which was ok, but REALLY dead. After two days, it felt downright depressing. And it wasn't on Waikiki, just "close". Luckily I was only booked there a few days while I found my permanent home away from home. My next choice I made for the value, trying to save the company some money. This was one of the older hotels here that I guess used to be a real big deal hotel. Not so much anymore. The reviews scared me, and my experience there only confirmed them. I checked out of there early, and came to the Waikiki Parc Hotel. The staff here is AMAZING. friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. They treated me with great respect, and were a VERY welcome change from what I had been experiencing previously. The rooms fit my style, and in my opinion are very nice. Many people complained that the rooms were small, which i guess they are a LITTLE on the small side...but onyl if you compare them to a $400 a night suite, or one of the hotels that are so far away from Waikiki it makes sense. The view from my ocean view room is quite amazing (much nicer than the other hotels "ocean view" room). It's really quite impressive at sunset. The reviews about pricey places to eat are right on....but there's SO much within a very short walk, who cares. I do have to say tho, the price is well worth it at the Japanese place in front (I believe it's called Nobu). I don't write reviews much, but I had to in this case. This hotel and its staff completely changed my mood during this trip! All the things people are giving this hotel bad reviews for...I really don't understand. :/ I find this hotel excellent!

But it is changing!
By ,
Well, this is my hotel of choice in waikiki in the past. But it has changed as of 2007. It no longer offers free breakfast, and the rates have gone up significantly. That means that there are better located hotels at a better price. However the personell at this hotel are top flight. It is exceptionally chean, quiet and accomondating. A few extra steps, no restuarant, no bar, but excellent accomodations otherwise. It is just what is important to you. choice accordingly.

The BEST!!!
By ,
This was a great choice for our stay in Hawaii. The location was great... walking distance to the beach and shopping. The service was great, even when I was the one who kept bothering them, they always had a smile. The rooms were clean and had a great view. A great restaurant to eat is at "The House with out a Key" in next hotel Halekulani (Go at sunset). All in all I would recommend this hotel to honeymooners or the business traveler.

location was perfect
By ,
The location was perfect and the staff went out of their way to assist us with information on ski packages, tours and shopping. The service was great! The complimentary breakfast was a real treat and a money saver. We met other guests from all over the United States and enjoyed visiting with them.

Nice Hotel
By ,
We stayed for six nights at the end of August 2006. The staff is small but courteous and helpful. We paid $230 a night for an ocean view room - nice view. Their restaurants are under construction and unavailable. Check-in desk is in a make-shift area. They do have a catered breakfast on the rooftop but it's not a full buffet like you might get at the Sheraton next door. But it is the same price - $14.95 - unless your deal package includes a breakfast coupon (which can also be used at the Sheraton). Parking (valet) was $18/day and convenient. In-room internet connection is available at $10/day (I think) or $40/week which is what I used.
